ask.com, you can ask everything, but they can't answer everything! (ask.com)

Advantages: Quick search results, ok layout

Disadvantages: Can't even provide information about their own site!

Ask.com is probably, in my opinion anyway the 3rd best known search engine in the world. Ask.com used to be called askjeeves.com which i found the man in it ''Jeeves'' very annoying, i didn't like the TV adverts they used to do either with the man running over and telling the people watching the advert to ''Ask Jeeves''.

Doing a little search on their website i tried to find out when ask.com was made, but there is no results so that shows you how unrealiable they are if they can't provide information about their own site! There is one feature on ask.com which i really like and i hope search engines like google use this in the future, it's the binocular feature, you simply hover over the binocular on each search result and you can view a small snappit of that website, which saves time as if it's the website you don't want you can move on without having to click on the website, see it's not the one you want, click off it and then your wasting time. It would be great if other search engines like google used this feature too.

I recommend ask.com but i prefer google personally, 3 stars for an ok search engine.

Summary: I would only use ask.com if google AND yahoo are both down, which will never happen in the same day.
