Advantages: Remembers downloads, Wide variety of available songs

Disadvantages: Sometimes slow

Since napster was prosecuted, the site has become very poor for music downloads. Member numbers dropped, and with them song choices. Options also plummeted when they had to remove copyrighted material.

If you are mourning the loss of napsters days of quality, fret no more, because I have found a superior alternative:

www.audiogalaxy.com

Audio galaxy requires new members to download a satellite which members use to download songs.
Once the satellite has been downloaded, it remains on the desktop and opens itself whenever internet connection is detected.

Members search for files and click to download them. The choice is huge. I have not had trouble finding one song!

The final HUGE advantage of Audiogalaxy is that the satellite remembers if there was a song downloading when the internet connection was lost, and it will resume downloading when the internet is next connected. It remembers all songs you have chosen to download, and activates itself. You can opt to only have one download at a time to avoid congestion.

1/5/2003: Unfortunately audiogalaxy has suffered the same fate as napster, and is not pretty much redundant. The site of choice for me now is Kazaa.com, quick, easy and extensive, enjoy!
