Disadvantages: Selling a car on there can be quite pricey

AutoTrader's website has to be the most visited website if you are looking for a used or new car and righly so - it is great!
The site is very easy to use and offers a simple dropdown menu to search for the type of car you would like. You can select a particluar model, or else just search for a certain colour or price range etc. It enables you to search for only those cars within a certain distance from your home so that you don't have to travel miles just to look at one, and offers links to loan comparison sites, insurance sites and car valuation/price guide sites too. You can choose whether you want a privately sold car or one from a dealer/trade, and slect what transmission you prefer. You can also read reviews on a particular make and model of car to make sure that it is really what you want.
I have just bought a car through Autotrader and sold a few through there too. It is the first place anyone should go when looking for a car as you can compare prices to make sure you are not getting a bad deal.
And unlike the old paper copy of Autotrader, the website is completely free to use (for buyers), which is a bonus!
