Advantages: Fun to play, win points daily, potentially win cash

Disadvantages: Very unlikely you'll win cash, high payout for prizes in terms of points

I came across bananalotto.co.uk via an email link, and thought it was just another pointless scam. I was kind of wrong. What made me have a look was the fact that it said you didn't have to pay anything at all, and indeed, you don't. It is a rather simple way to amass points, potentially win some money, and maybe get a prize once in a while.

The website is colourful and cheery, but is essentially an advertising tool that relies on links being clicked on loads of times for it to gain its money. To sign up you only have to give minimal details, and then you follow a link sent to you via email and start playing.

The main part of the site is the lottery style grid, where you have 10 games to choose 6 numbers, which then get entered for the draw. If your numbers match those that are drawn, then you win points or even some cash. To date, I haven't won any cash, but have been on there a little over a month and am well on my way to the first prize in terms of points amassed.

The scoring system gives you points if you get up to 4 numbers right, and then the chance to win a cash sum with anything higher. Of course, I have matched 4 quite a few times, but never 5! Realistically, expect to get points and if you get any cash, regard it as a bonus. Theoretically, you can win up to £100,000 if you get 5 correct numbers and the bonus ball on the 10th grid, but I wonder if this has ever happened....

When you're choosing your numbers, you get the option to pick them yourself or go for a random selection. Once you have chosen you then have to click on a link to a site, the homepage for which will open up in a new window. A small box then appears and you click on it to take you back to the game. These sites are harmless, such as the e-bay website or a well known mobile network company. It's not a link to some dodgy site or anything.

So, I guess ultimately, it's a minute or two out of my time each day to play what is like a daily lottery, with 10 FREE plays! Sure, it's unlikely I'll win anything other than points, and it'll likely take me a while to amass anything near enough for a decent prize (get about 100 or less points per day, and a DVD is about 14,000 points!!) but it's fun and it's something I look forward to checking each morning to find out how I've done. I recommend giving it a go. For those of you who just haven't the time, it's understandable, as the chances of getting a cash sum or loads of points on a regular basis are remote.

An enjoyable way to potentially win points or cash.

Summary: A fun way to try and win some cash

I was a member of this years ago and it was a rubbish site, will have to go back and have another look at it sounds like it's improved greatly.

I played this way back when it first came out... the best I ever did was 2 numbers. Never managed to make it close enough in points to get anything after a year so gave up. Great review. xx

I have a friend that uses this site, Kingolotto and at least one other and I have no idea why because after two years he has won nothing on any of them and gained only enough points for One DVD, one pen and a fridge magnet between the three of them!! - Colin
