If you're a cheapskate, have net access and want to play the lottery, you could no better than to give Bananalotto a try. It's basically a version of the National Lottery (no affiliation though), online, and the maximum amount you can win is £1m, daily! Also, you can do up to three entries per day, and it's all free ('tickets' are advertiser funded).
The site itself is very, bright, sparkly and attractive, aswell as being easy to navigate, so it's all been thought out well. All you have to do is simply register your details under a username and password and pick up to three 7 (6 + banana number) number lines each day, and be informed in your inbox if you've won anything ranging from 50p (3 numbers), to £1m (all numbers). This adds up to 1000 chances a year which is great! The only annoyance is having to visit an advertisers site when you confirm your line, but I guess it's good for free entries, and this site has to make and distribute money somehow. Their advertising campaign could be a bit more agressive though. I only saw an advert late night on TV just once.
More games are going to be added soon (maybe an 'Instants' like card?), and you can also pick your numbers in a lucky dip style fashion if you're in a hurry, though even picking your numbers manually will still mean you won't spend more than a minute online picking your line, and another minute just to check the results next day in email or on the site. A great free net. lottery scheme, and it's going to get better undoubtedly. You have nothing to lose (except a bit of your time), you only gain!
