Advantages: Great for making Barbie "Happy Birthday" cards and the like.
Disadvantages: Takes ages for the games to load in. It's like owning a ZX Spectrum again!
My daughter is a little young for this site yet, at only 2 years of age, but as it was mentioned here on the dooyoo site, I thought I would check it out, to explore the potential of it's use for when she's older. I've noticed that in Woolworths, etcetera that there are a couple of Brabie CD-Roms available, retailing at around £19.99. After only briefly looking at this site, there's absolutely no point in buying the CD-Roms as there is enough on this site to keep your little darlings amused for months. However, as with all children's internet sites, unless you have a super-speedy internet connection, you have to wait a while for the games to load in. Now, I'm not a very patient person, and neither would be a 6 year old girl, I would imagine. On entry into the site, after a rather intrigiuing butterfly flutters around the centre of the screen, we are met by a picture of Barbie, surrounded by all sorts of paraphenalia. On clicking on one of the pictures, an uneccessary sound plays and the activity loads in. The Barbie Pix game is quite good, though limited in it's use, perhaps the CD rom has more facilities? I like the way children can e-mail their pic(x) to someone, or print it off for Mummy! I was put off playing the other games by the slow time it takes for them to load in, I'll wait till Lucy's a little older before I let her loose on this one. She prefers the Jellikins site at the mo!
