When you first visit www.barbie.com a pop-up window will appear asking you if you want to visit the UK Barbie site (www.uk.barbie.com). So, I thought I'd visit the British one.

The majority of the site is coloured purple and green. It's very bright and cheery, just what little (and big) girls loves.

On the homepage there are different categories you can go to, each making a different sound when clicking on them. Click on Barbie herself, and you can have Fasion Fun. In this section, you can click on either Barbie, Christie, Kira or Teresa, and dress them up in different outfit. Any work you do throughout the site can be printed out for you to keep. The homepage is set out like a room with Barbie standing in the corner. You click on different things around the room to go elsewhere.

Barbie is now, would you believe, starring in "The Nutcracker" as Clara. See who the cast of the show is, and view the movie trailer.

There is a Barbie calender, and design your own pictures in 'Barbie Pix'.

Under 'games', you can finish the puzzle for a Barbie surprise, and help Skipper find her shoes.

You can also have a party. Choose from a beach or picnic party, or a sleepover. Enter your name, and choose your favourite friend (from the ones listed), food, game, colour, pet, season and time. Then an 'invited' sheet will greet you with the entries you've put in.

There's a storytelling section where you can choose your character, area, and the story is told - in animation and text.

There's (obviously) a catalogue to look through where you can buy Barbie goodies from toys, dolls and everything else that goes with her.

It's an extremely good site for children and Barbie lovers in gener
al, but considering how impatient children can be sometimes, it's not good in that sense, as it is, I found, very slow at loading. Flash is needed to view some of the things here, so get that downloaded for free first. (Seperate op altogether, I think!). Sometimes I waited ages to get where I wanted to, and gave up in the end. But, it is colourful, fun and easy to use.
