Do you hate going into travel agents looking for a late deal? They're slow, unfriendly and never tell you everything that's available.

I hated it more than most so i have been booking on line for many years now. Over the past 5 summers I have looked for late deals and I think I have looked at almost all of the major sites (Thomas Cook, Latedeals etc.). Most of them do some sort of filtering. What i mean is that the lists that they give you often have some holidays missed off because they are not from an approved company or at best some companies are promoted more than others. Since all of the late deals sit on the same database accessible by all operators this is a bit of a pain because you may be missing out on your ideal holiday.

Bargain holidays is one of the few sites i have found that presents a more fair way of choosing your late deal. They don't promote certain companies and genuinely give you a snapshot of what is left. The site is by far the fastest and most reliable I have used. The lists are easy to read and scan as well. Search facilites are similar to other sites and nothing special (although much better than Thompson).

When you finally come to booking you must still do it over the phone, although thanks to reference numbers it is relatively painless. The main reason i like them is that the staff are very friendly and seem to genuinely want to find the right holiday for you.

I have never had any problems with tickets arriving either. They always come 3 weeks before leaving.

One last hint - they are not the cheapest (although differences are small) but they may be willing to offer a small discount if you say you have found it cheaper elsewhere.
