bbc.co.uk/dynamoNewest Review: ... FAQ and clarifies the educational content of the various bits of the site (always important for responsible parent types). The TV programmes are listed and are generally shown in the early hours so, unless you are a family of Vampires or you’ve got your kids working on a milk round already; you’ll probably want to tape them! The times and dates on the site relate to last year although all were shown in July, August & September i.e. school holidays so I should imagine that Auntie Beeb will be doing the same this year too so watch this space. The content of each broadcast is handily detailed in paragraphs below the listing so you ... more |

If only I could afford a laptop (groan). How many times have I complained about not getting enough time online only to be told by one of my cyber friends to buy a laptop? After all, I could be watching Malcolm in the Middle, chatting on Tooyoo and reading opinions all at the same time! Sadly, life ain’t like that and I have more pressing financial claims than buying laptops (broken vacuum cleaner, broken washing machine, gotta pay for me hols... blah, blah) so where did all this time share with the kids on the PC malarkey start? A few years ago, my good lady noticed an advert for some educational programmes on the Beeb. They were on overnight so you had to ... Read the complete review

This is a great site for the fans of the Tweenies! I went on it and showed my son who is nearly four and he thought it was great. There is lots to do you can find out more about the individual characters. There are things for you to print off and you can even listen to the songs they do at song time. There are a few games to play some of which were a little difficult for Jamie but not to bad. I helped him a little. You can also find out what has been happening in the last few programs. Definately a must for fans. Try it you won't be disappointed. The BBC are good with education and their sites for kids are great. ... Read the complete review

The bbc website is absolutely brilliant not just for its information content but for some of its fun and games aimed at keeping younger children happy. I came across a musical game whereby the keyboard acts as a drum set and a member of the tweenies plays the drums as you hit the keyboard, games and info can be easily located via individual programmes. Some old favourites can also be found, i just wish that they'd bring back mr benn or the clangers!. ... Read the complete review

The BBC website Dynamo is aimed at children aged 5 - 9, and their parents. The idea of Dynamo is that it runs alongside the school curriculum, giving parents some helpful advice and ideas, however it is not completely internet based. There are a whole range of resources that are incorporated into dynamo, books and TV programmes and videos. I found loads of information at the library about this learning website after seeing the ads on telly. There is link to the Dynamo TV programmes with TV Plus numbers to set the video up. It is a colorful website and without too many flashy useless ad banners, online games for the kids in Dynamos Den to help with numeracy and ... Read the complete review

As a primary school teacher, I frequently receive mailshots about this new BBC website, dedicated to the world of Dynamo. This is an out-of hours learning experience broadcast by the BBC, so being inquisitive, I decided to check it out. On the homepage, you have 5 options, detailed below: 1. Dynamo's Den. Here, there are spelling games and quizzes which require the "Shockwave" plug-in for them to work. They range from maths games to story games, which all require patience on the part of the child. At least when they read a book, they do not have to wait for the pictures to download, but there we go, call me cynical! However, I did particularly like ... Read the complete review
