Firstly I wasn't entirely sure under where I should be pitting this review, so I do apologize if you feel this is in the wrong category. I want to share with you my love of and experience with BBC Dance mat. Dance Mat isn't anything to do with dance, it is in fact a fun typing programme aimed at children, teaching them how to touch type. Genius. The programme has 4 levels with 3 stages in each level. Each level is fantastically visual with demonstrations of where to put your fingers on the keyboard, which fingers you should be using on each key. The screen will display the letters or words you need to type and when you make a ... Read the complete review

Standard Grade Bitesize has been a lifeline though my 3rd and 4th year at school. For those of you not familiar with the Scottish schooling system: Primary School = Primary 1 - Primary 7 (ages 5 - 12) Secondary = 1st Year - 6th Year (ages 12 - 18). You are allowed to leave at the end of 4th year at Secondary School (if you are 16) which means all should have completed at least Standard Grade at School. 1st and 2nd year you study about 12 subjects, 3rd and 4th year (Standard Grade) you can choose subjects and cut down to 8 classes (maths, english and language are compulsory as well as either Modern Studies/Geography or History). If you stay for ... Read the complete review

The online revision sites by the BBC are the best aids in my opinion available on the net. The site offers revision in the mian courses in Britain...like Standard Grades and GCSE'S!!! I just sat my Standard Grades, and found the Bitesize initiative a great way for revising. All my teachers strongly recommended it and encouraged you to use it. Bitesize, is revision chunks. It is seperated into sections for easier learning and so you do not have to learn a lot at the one time. Easy revision. At the end of every topic, there are end of topic tests which are automatically marked online and this will let you eprsoanlly acess, how your revision is ... Read the complete review

If your currently in Year 11 (or in college re-sitting your GCSE's) then id definately advise you to watch the BBC Bitesize programmes. In my opinion they truely are ace! Ive started my A-level course now and I started watching the BBC Bitesize programmes (well recording them!) when I was in Year 10...just to get a head start! The programmes are suited to both foundation tiers, intermediate, and advanced tiers. Although sometimes the advanced is a little brief, and is maybe a bit too low, its still worth watching though. I sat advanced/higher tier in all but maths, which I sat intermediate and they all suited me fine. I think they're only worth ... Read the complete review

I have been surfing the internet lately for a decent education website for my daughters. I found the bbc one by accident really and to be honest I was really surprised by the whole range of different activities, subjects and the suchlike. The worksheets are easy to print off and the instructions are really clear. The history page was well received by my eldest daughter and she learnt alot of things by playing on the games online. The pictures are wonderful quality and do not lose anything on printing or downloading. It is full of helpful advice on how to help your child either preschool or primary which are the areas I concentrated on. I would recommend it to anyone ... Read the complete review
