Advantages: Easy to use site; Loads of weather info for your local area

Disadvantages: A bit confusing sometimes

My mate reckons I'm a bit of a nerd because I've got bbc for my homepage, there's mega loads to do on the site though so it will stay there for now! lol One of the sections I'm using more and more at the minute are the weather pages, they've come in mega useful in this cold snap and the 5 day forecasts are surprisingly accurate.

Just type in bbc.co.uk/weather and it will take you straight there or if you're on the homepage of the bbc there's a link at the bottom of the page.

The most important thing for me about these pages are the weather forecasts, I don't care most of the time what the weather is going to do but it's nice to know at this time of year if it's going to rain or snow because I like to know what to wear! lol You can check the forecast for the whole country or type in an area or postcode and get more detailed info for that place.

That come in mega useful last weekend when me and my mate were going to be spending the night in a static caravan in Stourport. Stourport is one of them places that if you have a bit more rain than usual then it will flood, the town is pretty lucky because it's quite high up off the river but the riverside walk we would have to do to get into town would be too boggy to get down if it was raining. I checked the bbc weather site a few days before we went and it promised there wouldn't be any rain for the day before and the night we was staying, so we could do our walk with dry feet!

Another good thing is that we was due to go on this overnighter 2 weeks before that but the bbc weather pages said they were in for heavy rain and a risk of flooding so we put it off. Next night Stourport was on Central News because the Severn had come over its banks again..... that would have been a disasterous walk back from town after a few voddies! lol

When you open the 5 day forecast you get all the basic info you're going to need, such as the general weather condition, temperature for day and night and what the wind's going to be doing. I think that's all most people would need and you can click on the individual day to open it up for more details.

Sometimes the info is a bit cockeyed though. Like today, if you type Birmingham into the location finder then the 5 day forecast will come up showing Wednesday as being foggy but with GOOD visibility and Thursday is sunny with no cloud and that's VERY POOR visibility. It doesn't make sense! lol

The pages are easy to get round and laid out good. On the side of the forecasts you can read weather news or look at photos that visitors to the site have sent in. I've looked round this part a couple of times but there's nothing in it that interests me much, the snowy pictures that people are sending in at the minute are nice to look at but I've got snow in Birmingham myself now so would rather go to the window and look at that.

One section that my dad uses quite a lot is the WARNINGS tab, he drives round for his job so using that he can plan his journeys without stressing about driving into mad snow or flooded areas. I reckon this is a very useful part of the site even though I don't use it myself much.

It's worth having a look at the weather pages on bbc.co.uk because it can deffo make life easier and a bit more predictable.

Summary: Check The Weather Any Time Of Day Or Night
