Bebo needs to be improved to many spam bots (bebo.com)

Advantages: Easy to use, the safety feature is pretty good, it's free

Disadvantages: To many spam bots have taken over the site, not all people are not what they say they are

Bebo is a socal networking site which started in 2005 the site is pretty much like Myspace and FaceBook. I first got invited to the website in 2006 by some random person who added my e-mail ages ago.

Bebo allows you to upload photo's, connect with your school and college's and also it can let you put videos on your page either by uploading them yourself or linking the videos from youtube.

Bebo suffers on quite a lot of things and one of them is spam bots I hardly visit the site but I get a lot of people who spam me with the use of a mobile phone but this has been happening to everyone on the site (the whole mobile messaging feature has been the worst decision for the site). What I mean by Spam Bots are web cam girls promoting the websites it has even happened with MySpace. Since AOL owns the site they don't seem well on maintaining the site very well is there actually any moderators on the site at all because it does not look like it.

The website is very easy to use filling in your profile is very simple and you get parts such as Name, Date of Birth, Hometown, relationship status. You also get a section called Me, My Life, And I where you can fill in information about yourself. As well as put what ever you like in the other part which can explain what movies, tv shows you like etc. Bebo also has a feature where you can share love with others but you can only do it once a day which I don't see the point in the feature at all.

There is also applications you can add to your page and must children who really don't speak in proper English bombard there page full of them. The applications are quizzes, games, music, tv shows, random pictures and the problem is when they are all loading it does sometimes cause your computer to get a while to load because of it which gets annoying.

As always social networking sites are not safe and even parents let 10 year olds on the website when they should be thinking about Internet Safety for there children. Bebo has a feature of keeping your profile private it does recommend which states 'Safety Tip: If you are under the age of 21 in particular, we strongly recommend keeping your profile private.' this is a good feature but most users never seem to use it.

The thing is Bebo is quite a boring site and really I find Social networking boring there was a time I did enjoy it but now it's got old and boring. Most of the people who add you on Bebo never really talk and other times they never seem to say why the added you. I really don't see the point speaking to someone your never going to meet because for all you know they could be lying to you about everything.

Bebo has it's ups and downs but really it depends on how you like the site and Social networking so if you like it then give it a try.
