Bebo is a website which was created to allow peers to communicate with each other. It has been about for a few years now and it has hundreds of thousands of members. The website allows you to link your friends accounts to yours and to upload your own personal photos. You can also send public or private messages to people, Public being a message everyone can see and private being similar to an email.

It is possible to design your own bebo page. you can change the background and edit the layout of all the different applications. this gives the user the sense of having their own website. Music can also be linked to each bebo page.

Their is however the possibility of some dangerous aspects arising when using this site. I would be more concerned with the younger users. Their is security features applied to prevent minors being contacted by strangers but this would not be hard to get around.

overall For older people it is a good service which saves me money that I would do by sending people text messages. I don't like other websites such as Twitter because it just seems a bit much. I don't want to know what people are doing at every second of the day and what they are eating for lunch. Bebo however allows me to contact people when I need to
