I recently ordered a King Size Bed from bedroomworld.co.uk and as I have had a pleasant experience from start to finish I feel it is really important for me to share this here with you as me and my partner also saved a massive amount of money.


A couple of months ago, we decided we needed a new mattress as the one we currently use was a little bit tired and quite old. Rather then get just a new mattress however we decided on getting a completely new bed, either a divan style bed, or a bedstead on which we could place a mattress. The first place we looked was in high street stores such as Bensons, Sleepmasters etc, and all the usual places you might look for a bed.


Now I know a good bed doesn't come cheap, but I was quite horrified at the thought of having to spend such a huge amount of money to have a nice bed. And I didn't want to go for a bed that was 'cheap' as I know how important it is to have a good bed which can offer the required support whilst sleeping.


My partner suggested looking on the net for a bed. Initially I was not too keen as I felt that it is important to 'try before you buy' when getting an item such as a bed. I thought it was too much of a risk to get a bed without knowing how the mattress would feel for example. However, when we found bedroomworld.co.uk after doing a search on google, I was really quite excited as it appeared that we could buy beds which were similar to the ones we had already seen on the high street, but at a much cheaper price.


We found the website very easy and straightforward to coordinate around, with the option of basing searches on the size of the bed you want to buy, the style of it (divan or bedstead), and the material you want (when buying a bedstead/frame you might want leather or wood for example).


We went for a King Size leather bedstead which looked very lush in the picture provided on the website. This was another nice thing about the website in fact - they had a picture of every single product that they stock, and you could click on the pictures to enlarge them and get a closer look at the detail.


After selecting the leather bedstead I felt very happy as it came to approximately £250 pounds. This is cheaper than anything we saw in the shops that we really liked. The price of any bedstead that we saw in the shops was at least £300 so we had already sort of decided that we would save money by buying a divan style bed as at least the mattress would be included in the price (as mattresses tend to be very expensive). You can imagine how glad we were therefore to have found a bedstead we both loved for such a great price. We decided to go for it, and clicked on the button that said 'add this to shopping basket'!


After adding the bedstead to my online shopping basket I now needed to add a mattress to my purchase. The website could not have made this easier for us. As soon as the page reloaded (with my bedstead now in the shopping basket) I was given an option of King Size mattresses to add to my purchase. The choice of mattresses was excellent; they had a range starting from budget mattresses for a very good price, right up to those of premium quality. What was also nice was that near each mattress they had given a total price as well as just the cost of each mattress, so you could very clearly see how much the mattress cost but also how much you would be paying in total if you decided to get that particular mattress with the bedstead already in your basket. There was also an excellent description of each mattress with lots of technical information. By that point I knew quite a bit about what sort of mattress I wanted because I had spent a lot of time looking for beds in showrooms already. In the end I went for a medium-to-premium quality mattress which had '1000-pocket springs', pocket springs being a particular type of spring support structure and generally the more of these you have in a mattress the better the support it provides.


Now the best bit is, that after adding the mattress to my basket, I was paying a total cost of £500. That meant only £250 for the mattress - mattresses we had already seen in the stores were not lower than £500 for this many pocket springs. In fact for £250 we would have only been able to get a mattress which had the 'open-spring' technology which is not as supportive for the body as a pocket spring. In terms of money therefore we made a HUGE saving - £300!!!! (If we had bought the bedstead we liked and this mattress in-store it would have been £300 + £500, at least), and therefore the amount of money saved by using this site was the best thing about it.


Delivery was also a smooth process. They only have one option with delivery and that costs £4.95 for a next day delivery. I thought this was very reasonable although we didn't actually want the bed the next day. I am guessing they deliver quickly in order to free up space in their warehouse, but we gave them a call to see if we could have the bed in a week's time. They were great on the phone and said that was fine, but the bed did actually come in 3 days time so maybe a little misunderstanding occurred.


Anyway, when the bed arrived it was all boxed up (apart from the mattress which was covered in protective plastic). It was relatively easy to fit together and most importantly it was just as great as we hoped it would be. It looks exactly (if not better!) as it did in the pictures we first saw of it, and the mattress is extremely comfortable and just what we would expect for the description of it.


All in all if you are looking to buy a bed, you need to visit this website as it will save you a massive amount of money compared to buying off the high street.
