Advantages: It's free, very easy to use and there are lots of other users already registered.

Disadvantages: As it's new, there are obviously not as many users as more established sites just yet.

Bent.com chat launched at the beginning of 2007 and I first joined after seeing an advert in the gay press.

It's an online gay chat and dating service that is free to use. You start by creating a profile about yourself, which includes a description, likes and dislikes and sexual preferences. You can also add your photos to your profile.

Unlike other gay dating sites I've used, bent.com does everything live. As soon as you make a change to your profile, send a message, upload a photo it happens instantly.

You can search through other people's profiles by age, location, likes and dislikes etc and so far there seems to be thousands of other guys that have already joined.

The best part of the bent.com gay chat system is that you can set up your webcam and broadcast it free to other guys online. You can have as many people as you want view your webcam at any time. When I tried this yesterday I had about 30 guys watching my webcam at the same time - this would be great if you've got a bit of an exhibitionist streak! You can also watch up to 4 other webcams at the same time, or choose to go just 1-2-1 with your webcam.

I've been very impressed with the site so far and there are no subscription fees or anything to pay at all.

Also available from bent.com is the online version of the monthly bent magazine and they also have a very well stocked gay shop which sells everything from videos and condoms to toys and underwear.
