You can bet your life you will enjoy this website. Let me start by telling you I am of the fairer sex and 'yes' us ladies like a flutter just as much as our male counterparts. You only have to look at the wonderful turn out at Ascot to appreciate that. If you're like me however you will probably never have the chance to go to Ascot on ladies day but you may be lucky enough to experience the live action of horse racing. For the rest of the world who simply don't have the time or the inclination, online betting is the answer. I am registered with a few online betting shops as they have offered different incentives at different times. In this review we are looking at bet247 and I have to say it is my favourite out of them all.

~~Online V Betting Shops~~

My husband visits the 'betting shop' every week to place his fixed odds and maybe a bet on the horses. Now, I have been in betting shops especially on Grand National day but they aren't the nicest of places. They can be full of an angry mob who have just lost money and this can be intimidating, more so for a woman. They can also be very smoky and cold. If you're not experienced at placing bets you can feel quite silly looking around for the correct slips and asking for advice. Online betting can provide the answer. You can place a bet from home at your own leisure and there is no need to worry about what slip to fill in as once you have chosen the sport you wish to bet on and the type of bet you want, all the details will be displayed on the screen. You can then print this if you wish.

~~How Easy Is It To Register~~

Now before you can place a bet on bet247 you need to register if you are not already a member. On the home page you will be greeted by a banner that says 'free bet offer' CLICK HERE TO REGISTER (and yes it does say it in capitals) you then think up a username and a password. You will need these every time you log in to the site. Yo
u will be then asked to give your date of birth, mother's maiden name and email address. The only other information you need to enter is your address details. It is that simple. At this point you can state if you mind being contacted by them in the future, if you don't then say so. Once you are happy with the details you have given and have read the terms and conditions you can confirm you are 18 years or over and enter the site. All well and good but as yet you have no money to bet with so what do you do.

~~Depositing Funds~~

You need to register a card with them and I would advise that you use a debit card. The reason being that at first I registered a credit card and you have to bear in mind that whichever card you register this will be used to make both deposits and withdrawals. Therefore if you have a winning bet the money will go firstly in to your bet247 account. You then have to arrange to withdraw it to the registered card. If this is a credit card it can be difficult to then withdraw the cash, as I found out. If you have a balance on your credit card it will simply be swallowed. At least if you use a debit card the money goes in to your bank account. The deposit goes through immediately so you need to make sure you have money in your bank account, the minimum you can deposit is £5.00. The deposit process is simple, once you have logged in you click on deposit at the top of your screen. You then enter the amount and confirm your password and you're away. To check your balance all you need to do is click on account and it will be displayed.

~~Which Sports Can You bet On~~

You have the main sports such as Today's Racing, Anti Post Racing, Football and Golf. Under 'Other Sports' at the moment you can bet on Rugby league, Rugby Union, Boxing and Cricket. I assume this will change depending on the season. The other thing I like about this site is that you can do the football pools online and lotteries.
There are 4 different lotteries you can play and they couldn't be simpler to enter. All this without even leaving your front door. Can't go through them all individually but I will go in to some details about horse racing and how easy it is to place a bet.

~~How To Place A Bet~~

From the homepage you simply choose your desired sport, in this case 'Today's Racing' you will then have the option for 'dogs' or 'horses' without having to go in to another screen underneath the headings you can choose which meeting you wish to bet on. If I choose 'Wetherby' it will bring up all the races with the runners and either the odds or the SP (starting price) I think if the race is not about to start it will give you the SP. You then simply pick your horse and click on 'bet' it will then bring a pop up box for you to enter the amount and the type of bet you wish to place. Either to win or each way for example. If you are placing a multiple bet like a 'lucky 15' or a 'treble' (for those of you that know racing terms) you click more selections at the bottom of the page. Even if you aren't familiar with these terms but you say want to have a bet on 3 horses. You simply pick 3 horses and it will come up with a list of bets you can place that need 3 horses. It really is very easy, believe me. Once the bet is placed it will ask you to confirm your selection. If you are happy click ok, you can then print this out if you wish. Your balance will reduce accordingly.

~~How Do I Keep Track Of My Bets~~

Keeping track of the bets you have placed is very straightforward. You go in to 'My Account' from the top of the page and it will bring up the details. You can either choose to bring a list of bets up for the last week or between specified dates. If you have any winnings you will be able to view these by clicking on the bet stake and it will then bring up a breakdown. It will
show the name of the horse, the odds it won at and the amount won. It is very comprehensive. It doesn't just bring up winning bets but all transactions that you have placed.

~~What If I Want To Withdraw~~

Again from the account section you click on withdraw. It will state the minimum and maximum you can withdraw depending on what you have in your account. I think the minimum maybe £5 but as I have no money in my account at the moment I am not sure. As I mentioned early it will send the money to the account linked to the card that you have registered with them. This can take a few days to reach you bank account but is standard with debit card payments. I have never had to contact them regarding this and the money has always gone in to my account.

~~Other Features~~

You can change your password and view your personal details at any time. You just click on the link at the top of the page. If you need to change your registered card for any reason you will need to contact bet247 by email. When I first joined there was a few things I needed further information on and I contacted them via email and they got in touch with me the same day. I was very impressed with their speed of service. There is no help page on the site so you have to contact them in this way, I don't think they provide a telephone number either. Like I say this hasn't been a problem as they are very quick to respond.

At the moment when you place your first £5 bet which has to be placed all at once and not 5 £1 bets for example they will credit your account with £5. It is therefore like getting your first bet free. This is done immediately and you don't have to wait for the credit. You also get 5 free £1 goes on the football pools. I think these last until the end of the year so you don't have to use them straight away. When you place a bet it will ask you if you want to use your free bet or not.

I have found the website to be ve
ry reliable and have not had problems accessing it, even on very busy days. This can be ideal when you just fancy a quick bet if you spot something on the telly and you haven't got time to go out to the bookies.

I am really very impressed with bet247 and if you place a limit in your account and stick to it you can easily control what you spend. If you can't, contact gamblers anonymous instead!
