I wont bore you with how I came to be familiar with betfair - suffice to say, I am a regular visitor - and have had only positive experiences (so far).



This is one of only a few independant online betting exchanges - one other that I hae used is www.betdaq.com

Basically, this means that www.betfair.com is NOT a bookmakers
It's an opportunity to places bets against other people, by seeing what odds they are prepared to offer on certain outcomes/results. You can actually see these changing on the site, as people match bets and offer their own odds.

The odds offered on betfair are, overall, better than those offered at bookmakers.

The whole range of sports is covered - motor racing, horses, football, tennis etc.


It's quick and easy to set up an account, deposit cash, place simple or complex bets - and the process for withdrawing money is also very efficient. There are facilites to limit your own 'spend' and 'losses', per week/month/year.

The huge trend at the moment is for 'lay' betting.
'Lay' betting involves placing your stake on the 'loser'. Betfair makes lay betting simple - one-button bet placing and easy to see odds/risk/potential winnings.

Betfair also offers good opportunites for 'arbitrage' betting - covering all results/outcomes to allow NO RISK betting.



Overall, betfair is a great site for both beginners and those better-versed with sports betting.
