Disadvantages: So Many Bikes to Choose From!

biketrader.co.uk is the web presence for Bike Trader magazine.

It is a website which is mainly set up for people wishing to look for a new bike. However, it doesn't stop there, with a stack of other bike buying related parts including buying advice, insurance sections, clothing, bike reviews etc.

However, I would guess that most folks just visit to look for (or price up) a second hand bike, so I'll base my review on this part of the site.

The site is very easy to use and quite intuitive. You basically filter your results from the tens of thousands of bikes listed, and eventually narrow it down to a selection which fit your needs. These filters / categories range from the obvious (distance, price, make, model etc.), to the more specific (trade/private, engine size, mileage etc.). This makes it very easy, and quite quick, to find the bike you are looking for!

Once you input your requirements into the 'selection page' (it's probably called something else, but this describes it well!), a number of bikes that fit the bill are displayed. The amount that will be displayed depends on how specific you are with your requirements.

For 'serious' buyers (i.e. those who are actually looking to buy a bike rather than just window shopping), each advert then contains all the information you need concerning the bike, including photos and the seller's contact details.

I've have not sold or advertised a bike using bike trader (yet!), but have bought a bike after using the website and can say that this part of the whole process was trouble-free and simple!
