Advantages: free to use
Disadvantages: busy site
I discovered Bingo port late last year when the site was very different it what it is now. Essentially it's a site for people to play free bingo and slots with the chance to win points which you can change for Amazon vouchers or free bingo credits for other paid bingo sites.
Sound good? I thought so when I discovered it.
I go through phases where I play a bit of on line bingo, but of course this costs money so I have to limit myself, as the chances of winning money are very small and more often than not your deposit will have gone and the lure of depositing more is high.
Bingo port is a completely free site that will never require you to deposit money to play the games. Joining is easy enough by inputting all the usual details you would expect to have to input to join such as email address, user name etc.
Once you've joined there is a myriad of options for you to choose. To be able to play the games you are going to need the currency of the site which is as simple as being points. These points can be accumulated by posting on the bingo forums which are part of the site. There are lots of different sections from general bingo chat, slot games chat, chat about different bingo sites. You can earn 100 points for each unique 10 word of more post you add to the site.
You are limited to earning 1000 points per day through the forums, as before this system was changed the site was abused quite heavily by players posting random rubbish just to gain lots of points.
So you have your daily allowance, then what?
It's time to play! Do you like bingo or slot games? Perhaps both. There are three different slot games to choose from. They differ slight from each other but essentially give you the same back. One has a progressive jackpot that would obviously give you quite a lot of points should you be lucky enough to win, whilst the other two have different bonus games to gain you more points.
The bingo rooms are a combination of 90 ball and 75 ball bingo. At different times of the day there will be bigger jackpots from the games, but this also attracts more players so your chances of winning decrease slightly.
So what do you do with any points you may win?
For every 5000 points you can redeem a £5 voucher for varying bingo sites. If you like playing bingo then this is a good way to get some free bingo credits.
If you want to spend your points on something solid, then for every 8000 points you can redeem for a £5 Amazon voucher. I always choose this option, but you are limited to redeeming twice in a week which runs from Thursday through to Wednesday.
I find that the site, which obviously makes its money from adverts and players clicking through to play real bingo sites with the generous offers that Bingo Port advertise, is still an individual site that is straightforward and easy to understand. There may be many bright and busy graphics and adverts jumping all over the screen, but once you know your way around the site the adverts won't bother you unless you spot a generous offer you want to take advantage of.
The bingo games are all 2 points per card so the most you will spend on a game of bingo is 58 points. This is cheap by anyone's standards, so with your 1000 points you will get a lot of games from it.
If you do happen to run out of points however you are given the chance to pin the wicked wheel which is a little like the wheel of fortune with different amounts on it. This is to give players a chance to get more points to play with as long as your balance is below 200 points. You have to remember though that you are not allowed to spin the wheel if you have already cash in some of your points for vouchers.
Is it possible to make anything from this site?
I think you can realistically get £5 per week from this site unless you are very lucky and win lots of slot games or bingo games. The site rules state that you must play through some of the points that you earn by posting. If you don't play the games, then at the end of the week your redeem may not be authorised and your voucher won't arrive.
As all vouchers are electronic, you generally receive them on a Thursday at some time through the day, as the site processes the week's redeems on this day.
I have gotten very addicted to the site in the past and as always some extra Amazon vouchers do come in handy. I probably spend a couple of hours a day in the site, but when I am playing bingo I occasionally put the games onto automatic and do something else at the same time.
Despite the overload of graphics and flashing colour, the site doesn't run slow at all. It's quite a busy site to look at but I have never found it to slow down my pc which is a great plus, as this would put me off playing the games.
Overall this is a great site for anyone who likes bingo and slot games. The bonuses are what they are - a bonus.
Summary: a great free site for bingo lovers
