Advantages: As simple or as complex as you want to make it.
Disadvantages: No visitors!
I thought I'd check out blogger.com as I like writing. I recently started up a blog, and it's really very simple to use. All you do is sign in, and then you have a dashboard where you can start up and monitor as many blogs as you like. I only have one at the moment. You can do it very simply if you want, just using a basic template, and just writing into it. You could change the layout a little, and add in some 'widget' type things too. This all takes a little bit of getting used to just like anything, but with a little practise you're there.
If however you are a little bit more advanced there is the option of editing the HTML. This of course has almost unlimited potential, if you know what you're doing. What I normally do is keep it very simple, then add in a little bit of HTML, which I find on the web, and just paste it in, as I have no clue how to write it.
My blog is going quite well, and I'm pleased with how it's working so far. I even have a few adverts on there, which I know a lot of people on here would be interested in doing, to make a little bit of money. I'm using Google Adsense for this. The revenue of course is dependent on how much traffic you get to your blog, so I can't comment on that yet, as I have no visitors. This part of it seems a problem, as far as I'm, aware no one has really seen my blog. Having said that it only started up a few days ago, I'll probably check back in a few months and tell you what's happening with it.
At the moment I'm hoping if you create it, they will come, so that remains to be seen, I haven't tried promoting it anywhere yet, so I'll start now. If anyone is interesting in what a blog looks like, or maybe wants a read my Blog is posted below, check it out and see what you think. Cheers guys.

- 16/05/09 Well you go to Adsense, and put the google ads on your site, then anyone who clicks on the ads gets you a small amount of money! Seems to take a fair bit of work however, I've only had a couple of clicks so far, but the more I do the more likely people are to visit it, so it should grow. I'll let you all know if I ever get a decent income from it. |

- 15/05/09 I wasn't totally sure what you meant by blogging so I did take a look at your blog to find out. It's just a continuous diary where you can write about anything...yours looked nice/informative :-) Making money always makes my ears prick up - but not totally sure how it all works with the Google Adsense you've mentioned. Anyway your review definitely peaked my interest! |
