Wow I have to say I'm very impressed with the service I have received from bootsphoto (In association with photobox). I registered via boots and got sent an offer for 50 (yes that is correct) free standard size prints, I just had to pay the p&p which i was nicely surprised was only £1.50, I thought it would be a lot more than this. Signing up and uploading my pictures: Signing up was easy and I believe you collect advantage card points with your ordered too, so this is another bonus. Uploading my pictures did take time but I think this is due to my slow internet connection so I would recommend a good broadband connection (which I am guessing is not a problem for most). I use Google chrome as my web browser and this uses a Java application which means it brings up all my files to the screen so you can browse through and pick your pictures to add to an online album. It even has a hand magnifying glass at the bottom of every picture so you can enlarge it and check it is the right pictures. Ordering: Once you have uploaded all your pictures ordering did not take me long for my standard prints and you can see if the picture fits within the size you have picked, if it doesn't it's easy to change and add or remove photos. It even tells you the quality of the picture and you can have a look. You can pay by all major cards (except solo, which is a little disappointing) you can also pay by paypal which is a nice little bonus too. I was sent an email to say my order hand been received and another saying they had been dispatched. The emails also contained more offers for me to use. Postage and delivery: As I mentioned before delivery was only £1.50 and you can upgrade your postage if you wish. Saying this I think the royal mail first class service they use was more than adequate. As i order my prints in the morning they were posted the same day and I got them the next, and they had warned it may take longer as it was offer (but I didn't see any evidence of this). They came in a envelope which was of adequate size which said, "do not bend." I found this adequate and not overly packaged. The Product: The pictures arrive and were very good quality which you would expect from boots and they certainly delivered. If I wanted photos as a present I would defiantly order form here again instead of somewhere like snapfish(as the prints were not as good quality). The cost is a little higher than some other sites but the service and quality defiantly compensate for this. Overall my experience was great and I would look out for offers to get it a little cheaper. I think if you sign up to boots photo and opt in for the news letter you may still get this offer and I'm sure they will run similar ones again. Well done Boots!
I use this site to order pictures I have taken with my digital camera. My main reason to use the service is because i want to have the pictures in my hand, show them to people. No matter how much technology advances, there will always be a need for actual prints. Thats what I think anyway. One thing about this site is that it is easy to use. Its extremely user friendly. Its easy to set up an account, easy to edit photos, easy to order prints. The photo uploader has to be installed (at least it did on mine) but this is a quick and easy process to complete. This uploader makes life alot easier when uploading multiple prints. Its simple enough to select which photos you want to print, with the programme on the site telling you which photos will give you optimum printing quality (bad quality digital photos will not print as well) This is displayed by a system which uses a smiley face, a blank face and a unhappy face, a sort of traffic light smiley face system. The price of prints is reasonable, with offers after you go over a certain limit of photos (eg. giving you prints for 5p each rather than 6p when you order 200 pics- this is just an example of the type of offer) If you sign up now, you can get 40 free prints. There are offers such as these for you to take advantage of. Sign up incentives like these are perfect for customers who are not sure if they want to join the site. Something i found extremely good about this service was the speed at which prints were printed and delievered to your door. I ordered the prints on the weekend and they are always with me within 4-5 days, sometimes less. This is below the estimate for delivery for me. Im not sure why this happens, but i like the fact that they are very speedy. Overall, i would definately use this site again, purely on experience i can say that you can trust this site to give you good quality prints when you need them.
As a lot of you are aware there are many places doing offers on photo prints these days with the ever growing trend for people buying digital cameras. I sighned up to this site to recieve the introductory offer of 40 free prints, sign up is easy and all you need to do is input your personal details, done. To upload your photos all you need to do is connect your camera or in my case mobile phone to your computer and upload your photos, you transfer them to the site and am ready to choose to have them printed, it is easy to do and there are simple instructions to guide you through it so anyone should be able to do this, the only catch is that you do have to pay postage on your photos so are not completely free but still felt like I was getting a great discount I placed my order and my photos arrived 4 days later which was reasonable concidering the backlog in the post this time of year, they are good quality photos and are worth paying the postage to get your 40 free prints, I would be willing to use this site again at full price as it is more convinent than going to the town to get my pictures printed
I have just discovered Boots Photo. Boot is usually my first port of call for photos anyway but i've never really printed out digital photos. This website is great as you can upload your photos directly from your camera or phone and then order your prints. Its as easy as pie. As yet I haven't gotten a look at all the features but I signed up on a friends recommendation a few days before christmas and haven't looked back since. In fact I've been recommending it to all my friends. They've been running a great introductory offer, I don't know how long it'll be running for. You get 40 free prints (standard size) just for signing up. Also if you tell your friends not only will they benefit from the 40 free prints offer, you'll get an extra 50 free prints. I was impressed with the quality of my pictures and they arrived the next day post was running (christmas post). The only cost to you is postage and packing which in my case was £1.35. I am still waiting for a catch to emerge but as yet I haven't found one. This is a great service and very convenient.
What a fabulous idea! When you get your photos developed at Boots they will put your pictures onto the internet free of charge, and you can access them using a special film id number. You can create your own albums on their website and order reprints and enlargements of your favourite photographs - all with the click of the mouse button! I registered at the site a couple of weeks ago, and after confirmation of membership attempted to access (collect) my film. Only up popped a box telling me my film was incorrect. Either my photos have already been collected or have not yet been put up on the net. A week later and I'm no wiser - I still can't collect them! Perhaps I don't understand the process. Please enlighten me!!
Well bootsphoto.com was due to open on the 8th of August, then the 15th, 18th, 21st and now its saying the 30th. It's a pity that traditional companies adopt such a 'does'nt relly matter' attitude towards their internet ventures. If bootsphoto.com was a new Boots store would the opening date be allowed to be changed numerous times? I doubt it. The fact that they have had to change the opening date so many times shows a serious lack of management and planning and doesn't inspire confidence in their service! Anyway, now I've got my moan over with I'll tell you a bit about what the site will (if it ever opens) do: Once you've used your film up you can take it into Boots and they will process it and upload the pictures to your very own online photo album. You can send your friends and family the address of the album so that they can all have a laugh at your holiday snaps. You'll also be able to order actual physical prints from the site along with various gifts (castors, jigsaws, etc I imagine). Having a look through what little of the site is live you find a mention of P&P so although to get your photos on bootsphoto.com you take them into a boots, if you want to get them off in a physical format it looks like you have to pay post and packing and receive them through the post. While this may be convienent for some people I think that they should also offer a delievered to your local Boots store option which would save on the P&P and set their service apart from their competitors. If you sign up before bootsphoto.com launches (no rush there then!) then you get a free enlargement with your first order. This does look like it could be a good service. We'll just have to wait and see if it ever opens. Come on Boots! At the moment I can't recommend it to a friend because I don't trust it to open when it says and although the service looks like it could be good it will get a low rating because it's not got my trust or confidence.
This ingenious site is due to open on the 8th of August 2000,but you can access it's homepage and register as a member. At present you can qualify for a free enlargement for becoming a member. According to the site there are a number of features that I know I will find useful,so I thought I would share my discovery with you! If you are lucky enough(?!)to own a digital camera you can upload your photo's on this site. This is also possible from a photo CD or scanner. There is a storage facility for favourite photographs, opportunities to make photo albums,e-cards and even photo tips! This site would be particuarly useful getting a photograph to somebody quickly-for example after the birth of a baby or a wedding. It is also possible to order reprints, enlargements and gifts on-line.I for example you have just had a special photograph taken, you can have it delivered to other people by the next day. I think this site sounds ideal, especially if you have friends and family on-line. Will up-date when site is launched!
