Advantages: offers a variety of advice and information

Disadvantages: Can find bickering on the discussion forums.

I first found out about the bounty website for pregnant women and parents in may of last year when I found out I was pregnant with my daughter. My midwife gave me my pregnancy booklet and inside was a pamphlet for a free bounty pack from mothercare or boots. I hotfooted it down to mothercare (I am a major fan of freebies) and then hurried home to see what i had got. On the whole I was impressed. The samples of dove deodorant and soap would come in handy when I was in hospital as they wouldn't take up much room in my bag and the baby wipes and free nappy (pampers) went into my bag as well.

The first time i checked out the bounty website I had to register and that only took a few minutes. Then I was ready to trawl the site and see how good it was.

On the left hand side of the website there is a menu bar that takes you to the different areas of the site. These are...

News Archive - Here there are lots of different news stories relating to pregnancy and parenting such as the controversial MMR jabs and articles on nursery furniture.

Membership - Here you are able to update your details, i.e. change you Estimated Due Date to your baby's birth date and change passwords and personal information.

Contact Us - This is where you can contact bounty on a variety of subjects such as the bounty packs, queries and suggestions.

Guest Writer - Here anybody who is registered on the bounty site can enter a piece of writing on anything to do with pregnancy and parenting and the person who gets picked has their article published on the site and there is a prize that will be won.

Bounty Babies - this area of the site is dedicated in helping you pick your baby's name, lets you pick which baby you think is baby of the month in their competition and also has a fun gender guesser game where you put in you age you were when you conceived and the month of your due date and see what comes out. It worked for me but I think
it is just a case of luck.

Competitions - This area of the site is where you can enter the current competitions and there is usually quite a lot and where you can view the past winners.

Story Time - This is where bounty have links to downloads, competitions and prizes to do with certain story characters.

Features - This area of the site is divided into four sections. They are family, health,pregnancy and topical and are full of information in each section.

Community - This is where the discussion forums and chat are held and they are very helpful. There is always someone ready with advice and information or just a natter. There is a downside to the discussion forums as there has been in the past a bit of bickering but bounty has put a stop to that for the moment. You can also vote in a number of polls here and see what other people have voted also.

Bounty Guides - This is divided into a number of sections such as planning your pregnancy, your pregnancy, breastfeeding, your baby, weaning & health and being a dad. very informative again.

Factfile - The factfile is another wealth of information and has articles, sources of help, a-z of health and a glossary.

Marketplace - This is a link to the babyjunction website where baby items can be bought and there are a lot of reviews on the items to help you pick which sort to buy.

I-tools - This is a due-date calculator where you enter the approximate date of your last period and the length of your normal cycle and you will get a timeline of your pregnancy and an approximate due-date.

Mini Sites - This includes information on the bounty packs, information on the bounty photographic service( this is where a bounty representative will come and see you after you have had your baby in hospital and give you the option of having some photos taken of baby and some of the proceeds go to that hospitals SCBU (Special Care Baby Unit). Also there is informat
ion on family finances such as loans, overdrafts, credit cards and mortgages.

The bounty.com website is a very informative website that obviously knows what it is talking about and has a large ammount of loyal members. It is very easy to navigate and most if not all subjects are covered. It has a large chat community if you need advice or just a gossip.

Well done Bounty, but I wouldn't mind a few more freebies please.
