Amsterdam Travel Service is one of the many services offered by the Bridge Travel group. They also offer holiday breaks under the name of Belgium Travel Service and other names. The Amsterdam TS specialise in short breaks in cities or some of the 'Center Parcs' type holiday facilities in the Netherlands. For our holiday we chose to visit the 'Gran Dorado' resort in Zandvoort which is near Amsterdam. I am sorry to say that Bridge Travel are WAY overrated. I am afraid to state also that they have had a 20% loss in the last year according to estimated figures, and also their holidays are extrememly expensive for what they are! Their review for the 'King hotel' in Amsterdam is this: "This family-run budget hotel enjoys a superb canalside location just a short walk from the Leidseplein and is set in a typically Dutch canal house. All rooms are with washbasin and are modest but clean with some 4-bedded rooms suitable for small groups of friends. The hotel serves an extensive buffet breakfast. Just booked my hotel on-line with Bridge Travel (www.bridgetravel.co.uk). They say all of their hotels are hand-picked, and you can easily browse around to see all the different hotels they have on offer. You can check real-time availability with their booking system which was cool! They also have a whole list of special offers to places like Paris and Amsterdam, although you can't book these on-line - you have to call. Overall an excellent site for when yuo've already got your flights with someone line easyjet or Go. But then again, some of their special deals which include the flight and the hotel were even cheaper than buying the flight and ...
