Im glad I found this site as the reviews on here have made me realise its not just me that is feeling let down. Last confirmations are the beginning of September thats over a month ago. Then weeks to get your money in the bank when you do get to claim. I used to love this site but for some time, prob over a year now, things have not been right. The site isnt kept up to date so when you do go to buy something or click on something it doesnt work anymore. The other site I use gets a lot more new suppliers than on this one. I only use this one and one other as I didnt realise there were so many to choose from but now I dont think I can use it anymore as the only reason I do this sort of thing is to save a bit for Christmas but this year Ive not got as much as expected and mainly due to the site being behind so much. Now Ive seen other sites mentioned I will look at those instead and leave this one then maybe next year I will havea bigger amount to spend on pressies.
After reading the reviews on here and then the forum on site ther are obviously major problems with this site - and I am not wasting anymore time on them.Rarely do owners blame late payments or non payment for there own probelms unless the problems have become so big its to late to rectify. I seriously dont believe for one minute that a big mortgage has been taken out to pay members - a recent forum incident where somebody posted an accusation about a competition winner and a prize of a holiday in the owners caravan that went wrong (all swiftly removed from the forum). Cynical? maybe thats the real mortgage. How do we really know?Or the holidays they seem to take which make them unavailable. Anyway I for one have moved on to the other 50% sites that are more reliable and owned by the 100% sites that do pay up regulary without constant excuses. Dont waste time doing daily clicks or any others here when yo can go to other sites and get paid a lot quicker. Sorry chief but you've had it as far as Im concerned.
I joined chief when it started and as a cash back site it was fairly good UNTIL all the excuses for late payments and late confirming started more than a long time ago. Yes the clicks seem to be there but what good is that if you dont get paid for them.
The forum tells the story. Payments getting later, confirmations non existent. WHY??? School hloidays, personal problems, staff off sick or staff on holiday, admin ill (several times), card cloned so cant make payments (several times), waiting to get paid themselves, members asking where their money is since its gone from their accounts but not in their bank and so on. Worse still is the promise of admin answering the forums daily (several times) then not bothering to answer them at all for weeks.
Members angry and saying they arent going to click until they get paid _ major problem for income to the site I would think. We've all seen this before havent we? Then goodbye site, goodbye money.
There are so many sites now that it is always going to be a risk if you actually get your money but whats disgraceful about this site is the constant lies that they tell you.
It just makes me wonder why any owner would think we will all wait for their 'problems' to be sorted out when they are at least a month behind with everything. Its sad but there are better sites that do at least pay you more regularly and quicker.
One time I would have recommended these to anyone but now I would warn anyone to wait and see if the people already owed money get paid first. Maybe once or if they are still around members may start to trust them again but I cant see that happening any time soon.
I agree with the other reviews - good but now going going ...............
This is another of the cashback sites that I joined last year. I've only really used it for daily click purposes as I don't do a lot of online shopping and what I do buy tends to be done through one or two cashback sites that I trust. So, how does this cashback site measure up to the others I've used?
I don't usually talk about the registration process in my cashback site reviews but I'm making an exception here. When you sign up, you have to wait for a registration email to validate your registration. My email didn't turn up and in the end, and I ended up having to go through the registration process again at a later date, which was annoying.
From a daily clicks point of view, confirmations used to be made fairly regularly and most were done in batch blocks so you wouldn't see much of an update for a while and then have multiple transactions confirmed all in one go. Generally speaking, it took around 6 weeks for most of my transactions to be confirmed and this is pretty standard in my experience. However, lately confirmations are being stretched out as long as possible it seems and it's not such a speedy process.
The payment has recently been reduced from £15 to £10. When you first register, you receive a £2.50 sign-up bonus to help you on your way. I reached the payment threshold a couple of weeks ago and put in a payment request, which is still pending so I assume that they only do payment runs every so often and don't process payment requests until this is due. It's been over a month now with no word of when payments can be expected so I've all but given up hope of actually receiving my money. If I ever get my payment, I'll come back and update this review but right now, it's not looking good. Reading on various forums, I've noticed that I'm not the only person who is not impressed with payments. The lack of communication from the site owners regarding what users can expect is also a bugbear for quite a few people.
Up until fairly recently, I liked using this cashback site as the daily clicks were reasonably plentiful in comparison to most of their competitors. However, it does seem to have gone downhill in the last month or so and I've seen many more complaints than there used to be. Due to the fact that payments don't seem to be being made at all quickly or indeed at all, I can't recommend this site. Lately, confirmations don't seem to be made as quickly as before either, which further delays payments and decreases my trust in the site even more.
EDIT: I've now been paid and so it seems have other members but I still don't have much confidence in the site and still don't feel that I can recommend it to anyone else given that payments are so slow and there is what seems like a steady stream of excuses from the powers-that-be if they do deign to post updates on the current situation.
Used to be a great site but this past year has been one excuse after another for late confirming and late or non payments.
Why does it take over a month to get paid every time? What are the t&cs actually for?
Always some-one on holiday, personal problems, useless promises.
This is a business and I'm afraid all these excuses are simply that - excuses. Very unprofessional.
Unless the owners now start to change their attitude towards the members I can see this site going as many do.
The worst scenario of husband and wife working together in my view.
Unfortunatley the same is said for their sister site cashbackcascade - seems to be in a worse mess if that's posible.
Now August - Update since June.
Everyone still waiting for payments for up to a month now, admin not answering queries. The moderator is now taking time off ill .
We've all seen this many times with other sites so Is this the end of Cashbackchief we wonder.
and What can I say? I'm glad I dont actually use the site anymore. Last claimed seven weeks ago. A little £10 ish but still waiting to receive it.
Now all their own clicks have been stopped supposedly till New Year as they've got no money.
Cashbackchief is a website which operates through affiliate networks and in which individuals will receive a cretain percentage or certain amount of "cashback" for the purchases of products / survices online. Individuals register with this website by entering in their name, e-mail address, etc and just you would normally purchase something online through a specific retailer, you are doing the exact same thing, however, the only difference is that you are logging in to Cashbackchief fist and then from there "clicking" though to the retailers website to make your purchase.
I find that Cashbackchief is quite reasonable with the amount / percentage of cashback which they offer. However, I also feel that it could be better, as there are many cashback webites in the market which offer better rates for consumers / members.
I have been a member of Cashbackchief for several months now and I have made quite a bit of money for purchases which I would have made anyways online.
The also offer daily clicks, which pay you for just clicking through specific website without having to purchase anything.
It is worth a go and registering on their site and before you know it, you will be earning money for online purchases that you would have most probably made anyways.
Cashback Chief is an excellent cashback site. It is one of the most well known sites, and has been going now for quite a few years. 6 months ago when I joined up, I was amazed at the rates of pay it was paying out for the daily clicks, including 6p a search on search chief and cascade compare, and 9p a search with Buy central. Unfortunately this has now been reduced, but the rates are still higher than you find anywhere else (apart from some of the sites that you have to pay an annual fee to be a member).
Cashback Chief pay a joining bonus of £2:50 to get you started, and the cashout level is £15, and is payable either by paypal, Amazon Vouchers, by BACS, or by cheque. The Daily click list is massive, and like I mentioned above the rates are good, some of the best are as follows:
Buy Central 4p (maximum of 1 search a day)
Search Chief 2p (Maximum of 5 searches a day)
Cascade Compare (Maximum of 5 searches a day)
Seek Something 2p (Maximum of 2 searches a day)
Tinta Search 2p (Maximum of 5 searches a day)
This is just a small sample of the daily clicks, but all the above (apart from Buy central) are generally only paid out at 1p a search on most other sites, and are limited to 2 or 3 searches a day. The only slight drawback with the daily clicks is that they take 30-60 days to become confirmed in your account, therefore for the first 2 months you are clicking away each day, and cannot be sure that the clicks will be confirmed, and therefore payable for a while.
I can confirm that I have been paid out by Cashback Chief 2 times now Via cheque, and never had any problems. From my experience it is one of the better cashback sites out there, and can be trusted to pay out!
I am a member of dozens of cashback and survey sites, so please check out some of my other reviews for other info.
I really love this website, i have been a member for a while and have been very satisfied with it. It is not as big as some of its competitors like topcashback and freefivers but it is a really great site to earn some extra money. THere are lots of daily clicks which although they might not seem a lot, stick with them and you will soon be ordering your first £15 cheque. I am also a member of its sister site cashbackcascade.co.uk which is just as good and also has masses of daily clicks. In some ways it is better than the larger companies as it doesn't charge a fee like lots do now. There is a £1.50 bonus for signing up and you can also refer friends. When they have reached the £15 payout then you get another £1.50 added to your account. I love this site and it is a fantastically simple way to make money
this is one of many cash back sites out there on the web. £2.50 starting money free. i use it along with around 10 others on a daily basis to make a little extra cash each month. this is a free to join site with no admin fee (it is really irritating that some other sites still charge this!)
the payout rate is around the average of £15 before you can claim your dosh. this is quite easily achievable by just doing the daily clicks - great for people like me who are very impatient!
daily clicks are a good way of building up your balance and you can made around 17p per day on this site (doesnt sound like much but it soon adds up with the others) The site updates accounts to pending within 24hrs but changes to payable only once a month which is a bit annoying.
The site is very easy to navigate and loads quickly
Earn £1.50 every time a referral makes their 1st cash out of £15 or more.
great little site, updates to pending quickly. go for it. use alongside cashbackkings and topcashback for max returns.
I joined Cashbackchief a week ago after reading reviews about them in Dooyoo. I was excited as I was getting despondent with several other cashback sites.
Compared to other cash back sites, Cashbackchief have more to offer. It is true from one of the reviews I have read that I can easily accumulate pence easily just by clicking on the money supermarket sites. However, I was disappointed by one of their clicks. It's probably not the fault of Cashbackchief.
There was a particular ad that says get £5 for answering some questions. I thought that's not too difficult, so I gave it a try. After spending 15 minutes going through a tedious questionaire, with several attempts to get my personal information, they congragulated me with a £5 bingo voucher. Why would I want a Bingo voucher for? It's such a let down.
I believe the mentality of a cashback site is to help one save money when they make purchases online. I am not going to spending money just to make some savings. I don't feel comfortable giving away personal information like address and telephone number as I know the outcome. I feel that sites like free registration, competitions and free information are very sneaky in their approach. Even though they only asked for your post code and house number, it is as good as giving your address away.
Ok, I am not disputing that cashback sites are worthless. I believe they serve a purpose, that is , helping you to make savings in your online purchases.
I think its such a waste of time going through free clicks and free search just to earn a penny or two. It will take forever to make any money.
I joined Cashbackchief and its sister site Cashbackcascade nearly 4 weeks ago. Id read about them on one of my favorite sites to find out about getting money on the net, thedailyclick.co.uk. The two sites are basically the same in terms of how much money I can make doing daily clicks so everything i say about Cashbackcheif should be applicable to Cashbackcascade.
The first thing I wanted to do when I joined, before I started to do any clicking was ask a few questions about payment confirmation. The place I turned to for this was their forums. I went onto their help forum and wrote my request and I was able to use the id I had signed up with to post on there. Within a few hours not only had I had some helpful replies, I had received via an alert in my email inbox which id signed up with, a private message from a moderator welcoming me to the site, answering my questions, giving me a very helpful program to fill in forms and telling me to ask if I had any more quieries. This was excellent. I found out my money will be updated in an unconfirmed status every monday, wednesday and friday and then confirmed at the end of each month. I will be able to request payment when ive reached 15 pounds by paypal, cheque or bank transfer. I also found out that the referal scheme works by when the person youve referred gets 15 pounds, you will receive 1.50.
You are given 2.50 confirmed into your account as soon as you join which gets you off to a great start. The amount that the daily clicks pays is slightly higher on this site than some of the others ive reviewed (britishrewards, ecasher for example). Generally they are 2/3p each but there is one for 4p. They are easy to find on the left hand menu of the site in bold type. The potential total for daily clicks on this site at the moment is 55p, and there is the insurance quote you can do daily for another 50p. Also unique to this site there are 7 moneysupermarket links, which you just have to click and they will give you 1p each. I say potential total as not all click track for me here, i have worked out which ones do now from the detailed breakdown of clicks that have worked in the "my account" section of the site and now I just do them and I receive on average 40p a day. This is still more than I get for most sites so I am persevering. Helpfully if you do too many clicks a screen will come up to tell you that you must wait until to tomorrow to try the link again, I find this useful as I break my clicks up and do them twice a day so sometimes forget which ive done.
At the moment I have 11 pounds unconfirmed and am just waiting for it to become available to me. Potentially I think this site and its sister site are one of the highest earners for daily clicking.
Cashbackchief is a moneyback site, which seems to be run by the same people as cashbackcascade. So apologies if I say some of the same stuff as for that site. I will try to write a bit more detail into this review about daily clicks, so fear not clickers!
THE CONCEPT OF CASHBACK SITES
For those of you not familiar with the concept, you can earn money from these sites by either clicking through to retailers from the site to buy products, earning a percentage cashback of your transaction, or else clicking the retailers that offer "daily clicks" where you earn money (generally, a few pence) by clicking through to their websites. So even if you're not prepared to do daily clicks, you can still earn money from the usual things you would buy online if that retailer appears in the cashback site.
For example - on cashbackchief, you can earn 2% cashback with every purchase from play.com. So buying a CD for £10.00 would get you 20p cashback. You can see how this would quickly add up were you to normally buy a lot of things online.
There are also others offers you can sign up to, to get a bit of cashback. For example:
- signing up to survey sites
- signing up to newsletters
- joining a betting site to get £10 back if you spend £10 gambling.
A NOTE ON EMAIL ADDRESSES
Personally, I don't want all the associated spam with all these offers in my main emails account. I therefore set up one specifically for cashback related stuff. I'd recommend you to do the same.
A NOTE ON TRACKING WITH COOKIES
For the whole concept to work, you need to have cookies enabled. This is because purchases and daily clicks (see below) are tracked by cookies sent from the retailer back to the cashback site. Please check this before you get annoyed that purchases don't seem to have tracked. It's also worth noting that these cookies get confused sometimes if you're been logging into different cashback sites. Once, I bought something and the cashback turned up on another site! It is therefore best to clear you internet browser cache between every cashback site visit - see the "important things to note about daily clicks" below for how to do this.
THE SITE ITSELF
The homepage displays your pending and confirmed balances on the left, which is nice. There is also links to all the categories of the retailers below this, as well as links to free cash and daily clicks, so that you don't have to search though every retailer to find these. You can also make a favourites list, perhaps with the site you buy from most, or daily clicks you use most. There is s also a link to a forum, where news and announcements about the site are made, as well as handy hints from members regarding purchases, offers and daily clicks. You can find a lot of useful information in the forum, for example which retailer is offering double points for daily clicks in a given week.
Another feature is that one retailer from the daily clicks is highlighted every week and double the usual daily cashback is available on that retailer for that period. This boosts the daily cashback a little more, and with daily clicks - every little helps!
Here is a breakdown of the daily clicks as of 15/1/08 that I consider reliable (not including the double cashback offer, or links I don't often get credited for, also note that clicks can change):
Carsource - 5 x 2p
Kelkoo - 2p
Last Place - 3p
Moneysupermarket.Com Car Hire - 1p
Moneysupermarket.Com Credit Cards - 1p
Moneysupermarket.Com Current Accounts - 1p
Moneysupermarket.Com Loans - 1p
Moneysupermarket.Com Motor Insurance - 1p
Moneysupermarket.Com Savings - 1p
Price Log - 3p
SearchChief.co.uk - 3p
Shopping.com - 1p
Surf Flash - 1p
The High Street Web - 2 x 4p
Win4Now - 3p
WoW Info - 2p
WoW Shopping - 2p
MAX TOTAL DAILY CLICKS - 44p
IMPORTANT THING TO NOTE ABOUT DAILY CLICKS
You will see above that I have marked some as multiples. In this case, the tracking cookies might not work if you click on the retailer site more than once per cashback site visit. This is because the cookie sees you've been there. There are 2 ways round this as far as I can see:
1. Before clicking on the same site again, log out, clear you cache in your browser, log back in, click again. For example, in Internet explorer:
Tools > Internet options > delete cookies, delete files & clear history.
2. Use a program to do this for you - I use ccleaner myself, available from:
Ccleaner seems to clean more than manual refreshes, and for example with carsource, I find clearing the cache manually isn't enough, but ccleaner does the job nicely. Note though, that these processes will wipe the history of your browser, so bear that in mind.
Payments are issued as a cheque, Paypal or via electronic Bank transfer (BACS). The minimum amount to be able to withdraw is £15.00. This is pretty good on cashback sites in general.
Cashbackchief seems like a good site, mostly from a daily click point of view. The cashback on purchases seems OK but I've seen better. I have been paid with no problems and it seems you can run up a fair bit with daily clicks when compared to many rivals sites.
If you've found this helpful and would like a referral link, write to me & let me know. Referrals are also a good way of making money, as you get £15 when your referrer has £15 is cleared transactions.
You know, it really amazes me these days the number of cashback sites there are to give a little back to people who shop on the internet. The trouble is, with there being so many, is that it is difficult to work out which are the really good ones. Well, I think I have found a very good one which is cashbackchief.co.uk
If there is anyone out there who is not aware of cashback sites, these are incredibly useful if you like to shop on the internet and instead of going directly to any online shop you should log on to a cashback site and click on the link to take you where ever you want to shop. Not all online stores participate in these schemes but most do and you can usually get anything between 1% and 15% cashback on your purchases - which is not to be sneezed at!
Cashbackchief is a relatively new cashback site but it does seem to have achieved a good reputation in a short amount of time. I signed up at the end of July and in four months I have made over £35 pounds and have just been paid! I will tell you how.
Signing up is very easy. You just need to fill in a few basic details and you receive £2.50 just for doing so.
There is a huge amount of cashback available from different shops in various categories. A few examples are that you can get 5% cashback with Marks and Spencer, 5% cashback with Woolworths, 8% with The Body Shop and 5% with Waterstones. These are some of my favourite sites and you can see that if you shop at these regularly, you will receive a significant amount of cashback when you do! Obviously, cashbackchief has nothing to do with your actual purchasing, but just acts as a portal to these shopping sites.
It's also very useful to go through cashbackchief if you need any financial products. They don't have a huge range of credit cards to link to but if you wanted an american express card you could get £10 cashback and if you applied for the GM mastercard you could get a huge £15. That really is money for nothing! THere are great deals as well on all kinds of insurance. There are links to 14 car insurance providers with the best cashback being for Prudential which is £75. This is regardless of what your insurance actually costs, and going through any cashback site will not have an adverse effect on your quote in any way. There are equally good cashback offers on all the other types of insurance too.
A good way to make money on a regular basis is to go to the daily clicks each day. All sites seem to have a few of these and cashbackchief seems to have more than most. The main ones are Kelkoo (5p a day), Price log (3p a day), shopping.com (5p a day) and High Street Web (4p a day). If you visit all of the available daily clicks each day it is possible to earn 41 pence a day which adds up to just under £3 a week. If you multiply that by 52 you can see that this cashback site could be quite profitable for you! Another little extra with the daily clicks is that every week they double the cashback on one of them so you could, for example, end up earning 10 pence a day, only by clicking on Kelkoo.
It's also worth keeping an eye on the free cash section. Here there are numerous opportunities to earn money by signing up for all sorts of offers, newsletters and other sites. I think it's probably worth opening another email address for all these sign ups though to save your main account from being clogged up by too much 'junk'!
One final way to make a little extra is through the referral system. This is not a huge amount and does not compare favourably with a lot of sites, but in the end - every little helps! At cashbackchief you can earn £1.50 for each referral once they have received £15 in earnings. If you think you like the sound of this site and are tempted to join up, I would be very happy and grateful to send you my referral link! Just leave me a message and I'll get back to you.
In common with most sites, your earnings start off as pending, and usually take about sixty days to be confirmed. This is always a little frustrating at the beginning, but once you start getting confirmed earnings they do seem to come in on a regular basis. The site is also very good at tracking any earnings and it does not take very long at all for any transactions to show up as pending. The site is very easy to navigate andit is easy to keep track of your earnings at any one time.
When you have achieved over £15 in confirmed earnings you can then get the money! I have just done this and received a BACS payment directly into my account. I was very impressed at the speed which I received this too. I made the redemption on Saturday and it was in my bank account on Monday morning. A very impressive redemption speed! You can choose between PayPal, cheque or BACS as a method of payment as well.
There is a useful forum attached to the site which helps you keep up with everything that is going on. there are varied topics but generally if you have a query and post it here someone will give you the response you want!
So overall I really am impressed with this site. It has good levels of cashback and daily clicks, the threshold for payouts is very reasonable and they do reliably pay up very quickly. I'm not sure what more you could want from a cashback site! So this realy is worth taking a look, and if you do decide to join up and would be happy to use my referral link, please leave me a message!
