The Centre for Alternative Technology (CAT for short!) is situated among beautiful scenery of Machynlleth (in Mid Wales). If you're interested either in alternative technology, science, technology, geography, etc. then this place will be of interest! I’ve lost count of how many times I’ve been to CAT. My dad is really into it there so I’ve been quite a few times throughout my childhood. I also went two years ago with college as part of my AS physics. A few years ago I made a list of all the things that I would like to do and all the places that I would like to go and the Centre for Alternative Technology (CAT for short) was on that list. When Dave and I got together he seemed to be taking my list as a personal crusade (not that I am complaining you understand!) and so I got the chance to visit the CAT. Alternative technology is that which works with nature rather than against it and at CAT, which is in Machynlleth in Wales, you can see this truly in action. The place is quite amazing - it is totally self sufficient in electricity and runs the whole complex on the equivalent of an electric kettle.
