Advantages: Free, Can chat to loads of other cat lovers
Disadvantages: A lot of the site is based for American owners
I am a bit of a crazy cat lady, people have often said they can imagine me as an old lady with about 20 cats living in a dark dank cottage and cackling a lot.
I am not sure why they get that impression, I only have 2 cats, I volunteer for a cat charity and I buy a lot of cat related items, but maybe its because I refer to my cats as my children that worries people and sends them down the crazy cat lady path.
Luckily I have a boyfriend who loves our babies as much as I do and upon searching the internet on a cat search when I first got Izzy over 3 years ago I came across catster.com.
Catster is the equivalent of Facebook or Myspace but for cats, it does also have a sister site Dogster.com for all dog owners out there.
You can set up an account with them and a profile for each of your pets and then share your photos with other cat lovers, make friends with other cats in your area, join groups and even keep a blog for your beloved kitty so his life adventures can be shared with the world.
It also has a lot of information on cats, different types of breeds, how to look after your cat, a area to ask for advice and also a forum where you can chat to other cats owners.
If you need to know something about a cat or cat related you can find it somewhere on Catster, its a great fun site where you can share your love with the other owners and it quite often makes me think i am nowhere near close to being a crazy lady, they have some people who are really obsessed with cats on the site!
If your going to look or join I recommend you search for a cat called Rocky Ann, she is one very lucky American kitty whose owners spoil her rotten!
The only downfall of the site is that most of the local information is American based so you can't find much UK related catteries or adoption centres etc.
Go have a look at least to see all the gorgeous kitties!
Summary: Purrrrrfect!
