Not many people will have heard of Clarice Cliff. However, I am a real fan ... although I am not fortunate enough to own any of her original pieces. She was the first women Art Director in the Potteries and her art deco designed pottery was sold around the world. In her heyday, she supplied 460 large stores in the North of England and her original designs spanning back to the 20s are extremely sought after in the present day. This website is devoted to the Clarice Cliff Collecters Club, which was founded by Leonard Griffin in 1982, who, through reserach managed to trace over twenty five of Clarice's paintresses. It clear from the beginning that this is written by enthusiasts. Leonard Griffin is the catalyst having written the definitive book on Clarice Cliffs' work.
