clickmusic.co.ukNewest Review: ... It isnt a destination site but shows you where to go to get the best music info on the web. Their news section gathers all the latest stories and then directs you to the original site rather than constantly trying to keep you on their site. The gigs and webcast sections are great and far more up to date and relevant than other sites who's choices sometimes seem to be really commercial as if they are being paid to promote them or something! They also have cool competitions and a excellent newsletter that keeps you up to date and is funny. Which makes a change. ... more |

I think some of the people here are missing the point about Clickmusic. I use the site all the time and find it invaluable. The point of Clickmusic, I've discovered is not to stay and read but to find out what's happening on the rest of the web. There's always a good review about the sites they point to so you can decide whether or not this really is what you're looking for. It saves time over other music sites who keep sending you round and round their own pages trying to keep you on their site. The best way (and cheapest!) to spend time on the web is to keep clickmusic open and keep going backwards and forwards finding what you want from other music sites. Lets face it the web is huge so why stick with one site. ... Read the complete review

Clickmusic simply isnt as good as some other music sites, Dotmusic comes to mind. I thought their news section would be of interest, but I then went on to find that their news was simply pulled from other sites and wasn’t their own content. I then visited the charts bit, which in all fairness is ok, but its just set out in a list. They could have done this a lot better simply using a table and a couple of background colours to make it easier on the eye. They don’t have any snippets of the music like a lot of other music websites do either, and I have just found that this information is again pulled from another website. There are a lot of ... The only reason I ever visit Clickmusic is to see the early midweek charts on a Thursday evening. It has the singles and albums charts updated every Thursday evening, whgich is earlier than other sources such as CD:UK on a saturday morning. Sometimes these are reliable and sometimes they're not, as they only account for sales from Sunday-Thursday, and the real charts on a Sunday account for a full week's sales, from the previous Sunday to Saturday. The site is not very good apart from this, and I find Dotmusic to be far better as its discussion forums in particular are great. ... Read the complete review

I find that clickmusic holds promise but hasn't quite made it yet. The site is amazingly useful for getting updates on the lates happenings of the music world but these aren't displayed in a particularly interesting way... they are simply listed. I also find clickmusic useful when i am trying to find out more about an artist or track that i have heard someone mention. for example, last week a friends mentioned a dj's name and I (being a little bit worse for wear at that point in the evening) could only remember the first initial of this DJ. I used click music to search a music genre for similar sounding names, and hey-presto, it worked. ... Read the complete review
