A week later they despatch them, but on arrival they are the wrong heads. So another call to the premium number and another promise of the replacement heads to be sent out - but no delivery estimation just 'when 'he' gets them he'll post them out'. Who on earth is 'he'? It's an absolutely appalling service and although the steam cleaner is good itself the fittings are of very poor quality. I'd never heard of Clifford James before, and I'll be making sure I nev... more

I bought 2 pairs in a BOGOF deal for £40. The shoes look ok but are the most uncomfortable shoes I have ever worn Whatever I do I cannot break them in and I suffer blisters whenever I wear them - they are the correct size. The leather seems very rigid and not supple at all. I wish I's spend more on a decent pair. These shoes are now donated to the dog - for chewing purposes.

I purchased an upholstery and garment steam cleaner from via The Guardian Readers offers page, Clifford James happened to be the supplier. Never again! The steamer arrived with two head attachments. One of the heads wouldn't stay on the steam head, the second head, a lint head did fit however within seconds of being used peeled off the fitting. I called the premium number 'customer service' line and was told two replacement heads would be sent out. A week later they despatch them, but on arrival they are the wrong heads. Bought 2 pairs of the Unisex boots/ shoes. Luckily ordered a size larger than normal having read other comments. Appeared sturdy and well constructed. I have worn them about 25 times and the heel has worn through. I have walked down to the High street and back, a round trip of maybe 3/4mile each time. These shoes have NOT had a hard life and I would reasonably expect my shoes to last considerably longer than this. The uppers are still almost pristine. When I contacted Clifford James their answer was, 'tough, you've had them more than 30 days'. This is true, but if I was selling shoes and someone reported that they wore out after such a short period, I would return them to the manufacturer for refund. Avoid these shoes like the plague!!

Take this as a warning, NEVER, EVER waste your money on footwear from this appalling company. Never trust a company with a premium rate 0871 phone number that costs you to talk to 'Customer Service'. And if ever there was a misuse of the title 'Customer Service' then it is by this dreadful company. My brother-in-law ordered a pair of Samuel Windsor 'Torino' boots from their, wait for it...'Prestige Collection'. Made by crafstmen who are so proud of their work they sent 2 left boots! Great if you have 2 left feet...my brother-in-law doesn't. So proud in fact that the supposed 'craftsman' even include a signed certificate with a signature that is nothing more ...  Read the complete review
