Newest Review: ... take that long I found myself some genuine work from home. I worked for Tellex Monitors, later to be TNS media intelligence, part of the Press Association. I got to monitor all of the local news and current affairs shows, type up the details and send it on to the head office. Companies like to know if they are in the news and what people are saying about them, this was the purpose of the monitoring. I got a free computer although it was only set for work and not personal use, a free fax machine and a free phone number to make all of the calls required on their behalf, it sounds almost unbelievable but it ... more

I am writing this in hope that it will help anyone looking for work from home or just a way to earn a few extra pounds every month. I've worked from home for the past five years and i'm well aware of all of the pitfalls and scams. I first started looking for work to do from home due to illness, nothing serious but enough to stop me working full time and the thought of living on a part time income wasn't appealing. I got caught up in a few scams myself when I first got started. It's not difficult to do, a lot of these companies are very plausible and they do attract the kind of people who are desperate for work and maybe willing to pay ...  Read the complete review

Premium Review DON'T FALL INTO THE TRAP (542 words)

After the birth of my second child nine months ago, I decided to give up work to be a full-time mum - a decision that I don't regret one little bit. The only downside of being a stay-at-home mum is that you don't get paid for it, so like many other people who are looking for extra cash, I set about looking for opportunities to work from home. There are so many get rich quick scams on the go at the moment that it's so easy to fall into the trap. This unfortunately happened to me when I wrote off to a company advertising earning £1.30 per envelope. I thought this sounded good, so I sent off for more information. A week or so afterwards I received a ...  Read the complete review

Premium Review ctoc.co.uk/homeworking_work_from_home.htm: I do it my way! (1097 words)

I like to think of myself as being self employed although I don't have a specific job as such but rather participate in a number of money making from home as a way to supplement the general household budget. When I left my employment with Walsall MBC I was given three months pay in Lieu of notice together with almost another month's worth of accrued holiday pay. I put this into a savings account with Egg and I use it on a month-by-month basis to 'top up' my finances. Although it was only effectively four months pay, I worked out that I could make it last nearer to twelve months! This gets replenished sporadically as various insurance policies ...  Read the complete review

Premium Review Sound like heaven???? (1245 words)

I have been trying to set up enough work with one thing and another to work from home for over twelve months as yes, it does sound like heaven to me most of the time. In reality however, I think working from home is more difficult than most people would envisage just because it requires you and only you to provide the motivation. Here, I hope to give some advice based upon my own experiences so far. ~~~~~~~~~~~Expectations~~~~~~~~~~~ The kinds of things you hope to gain by working from home are a little obvious really aren't they? Firstly, you think, I'll be able to make my own hours......yes, this is so, but will you be able to stick to those ...  Read the complete review

Premium Review ctoc.co.uk/homeworking_work_from_home.htm: Amway is not the Way (343 words)
by - written on 03/05/02 (Useful, 45 readings)

I was with Amway for around 18months, around 9 years ago. During that time I was on low income, unemployed, and then in a different job (still on relatively low income). I was pres-ganged by my 'upline' into buying motivational books and tapes. These tapes were mass-produced copies of old seminars by the Silvers/Golds etc (.e. the people making money already). These tapes cost around £30 per time (for 6/12 tapes), and then you were buying the 3-5 recommended books as well. In addition, every 3 months there was a corporate function which cost £120, where you went away for a short weekend to a htoel, and had intensive 'conferences' (brain washing). ...  Read the complete review
