i joined dating direct for a month, and to be honest, will never ever join it again, its a complete waste of money. Its supposed to be a dating site, but what is a dating site anymore/ Just seems to me full of men and women who are just looking for casual sex. I thought there were sites for that sort of thing if thats what your looking for. In my experience no one on this site is actually looking for relationships.

I am a writer and I joined Dating direct.com to
research information that would permit me to write an article on on line dating for an Americian Website on where I have a weekly column. Another user from dating Direct recognized and sold my details from the site to a down market sunday paper in the hope of embarrassing me the article will appear on www.theirishbookreview.com.

I wrote a review today on Dating Direct's affinity assessment @ http://www.astramatch.com/blog . They promise to email your personality report after completion of questionnaire but hours later, I still have not received it, after having my email address validated. Reading the complaints below it seems they need to address a few things on their site to be able to live up to UK's number one online dating site???????

I too have had the exact same problems as everyone else and have gone so far as to report the site to watchdog- if people cannot delete their memberships, then the claim to be 'Europe's largest dating website' is very misleading. This dating service (DatingDirect.com and Datingdirect.co.uk) is the pits. The 'slide' began when they took over Meetic or someone, probably sometime last year. If you have trouble with the site then try complaining about the Data Protection Act to webmaster@static-orig.meetic.com. You could also contact their webserver software supplier - in a last resort Please do not hassle them. They are an innocent party. I was a member of Dating Direct a few years ago and was about to give up looking when, feeling a bit down as it was my 40th birthday, I clicked on a new members details, he didn't even have a photo, he had joined so recently! I think the same may have happened to me. Fraudulent card use in Chennai (India) 5 times during 20-22 April 2008 - petrol and other stuff. Card company investigating.

I feel so stupid for paying a subscription to the circus which is dating direct. I tried to cancel my membership, they still took a direct debit via paypal. Paypal will not open a dispute because it is a service. They tell me I have been sent a credit, paypal say they haven't. DD cannot provide me with a reference. They are theives.

Stay well clear unless you like being fleaced.

I have the same problem with datingdirect.com...subscribed for 7 days for £1 as per their promotion and, try as a I may, there was absolutely no way of cancelling the subscription. A word of advice aswell, just cancelling your bank card doesn't guarantee the payments won't be taken.....go and get a reoccurance visa transaction form filled in asap at your local branch to prevent further payments being taken. It's less disruptive than having your card cancelled! Steer well clear.

Datingdirect.com charged me £24.98 after cancelling my membership 4 weeks short of the end date.

Someone internal to this organization passed on my credit card details and my card has subsequently been cloned from the cancellation date onwards - Be Wary!

This is very serious and the POLICE are now looking into it

My Advice? - Never use Dating Direct!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
