Advantages: Database of research and articles, well-written, A good laugh if you find this sort of thing funny, Answers the question "What happened to er David Icke?"
Disadvantages: Gets caught up with the whole lizard thing, Discredits credible research and could get people believing in strange ideas, Leans a bit towards the sensational. Certain types could be adversely affected by reading it. Hostility to traditional religion is biased, sometimes, patronising and based on many misunderstandings & innaccuracies
For a few years I have taken an interest in what goes on behind the scenes in world politics & big banking and I have to say that a lot of what Icke says about there being a global conspiracy is correct. Just maybe not quite as David Icke presents it. Having said that, most of the content of Icke's site is rehashed from other people's research. I don't necessarily feel that there is anything wrong with this, however, because the information needs to be out there for people to see and judge for themselves. The trouble with what he says is that he loses it when he starts to claim that 12 foot alien shape-shifting reptiles currently donning human form are ruling the earth. According to Icke such people as the Queen and Prince Philip, Al Gore, George Bush (Jr & Sr) and many more are really 12ft reptiles. In doing this he discredits his work and that of other researchers and results in everyone who is trying to expose this global conspiracy being tarred with the same brush. One has to remember where David Icke comes from. Remember he was hearing voices telling him he was the Son of God and bases much of his work on his New Age beliefs and on "voices" apparently channelled from extra-terrestrial sources. Well it may be just me but I just don't believe that his sources are terribly reliable. I could go on a lot more about that but I'll leave that for another occasion. He and many other researchers maintain that there is an alliance between an elite group of big-time bankers & businessmen, politicians & media-moguls and, to a lesser extent, some scientists who believe that the answer to the world's problems is to abolish national sovereignties by creating single global government, a single global army, one world religion (all other religions will be abolished) and for all of this to be ruled by a select few (mostly themselves) in the form of a benevolent dictatorship but in the process doing away with any notion o
f the democratic freedoms that we now enjoy. Perhaps more shocking and harder to believe is that world religions will be replaced by a single quasi-New Age/Occultic religion based on the ancient mystery religions of Egypt and Babylon (similar to that which is currently practiced by high level Freemasons and other secret orders). Check out this quote from David Spangler, Director of Planetary Initiative, under the umbrella of the United Nations: "No one will enter the New World Order unless he or she will make a pledge to worship Lucifer. No one will enter the New Age unless he will take a Luciferian Initiation." Doo doo doo doo doo doo doo doo.... (X-Files theme ;0) Their justification for this is that the common man/woman is not clever enough to rule him/herself and that we need to be ruled by those who, by virtue of their superior intellect, are born with an inherent right to rule over the "less intellectually gifted". That this sounds crazy is plainly aware to me and I am not prone to believing unsubstantiated nonsense but if you take the time to research the information presented here for yourself (the British Library is a good starting point) you will see that there is more truth to it than you might first think. That some may not see anything wrong with this is not surprising, however, it is when one learns of the lengths that which these people are prepared to go to that one becomes concerned that the utopian future they feel that they are destined to create is not what they would have us believe it is. If you want to know more, run a few search phrases through Google and read a bit more. Try: Bildeberg, Council on Foreign Relations, Trilateral Comission, Round Table, Council of Nine, Council of 300, United Nations, United Religions, Maitreya I expect that there will always be skeptics as I was one for quite some time. It has to be remembere
d tha t those who are seeking to implement these changes are aware that most of the population, should they become aware of the facts, would strongly resist. For this reason much of the planning, discussion and implementation is done behind closed doors under the guise of national security or the facilitation of free expression of opinion. (Hint: check out Bilderberg for more on this) <br> For those of you who read this before 13th May C4 will be showing a documentary covering this subject on this day (Sunday) at 8pm (or 9pm). If you value your freedom you will be well-advised if you find out more even if you reject it ultimately. But beware there is a lot of nonsense spoken about this subject aswell re: aliens and 12ft reptiles and researching this subject can become a little bit overwhelming. The important thing is not to throw out the baby with the bath-water and keep your sense of perspective!

- 15/02/03 A good review, although no comment was made as to the use of language: I find Icke writes quite verbosely, his words tumble over one another like clothes in a dryer - it is as though his thoughts cannot keep up with his pen.
Re the lizard bit - if it were not for the lizards, Icke's work would carry a lot more weight. And the credibility of it could spell trouble for Icke. As it is, the lizards are the chief thing preventing Icke's work being taken seriously - makes you wonder how (and by whom) that whole lizard seed got planted in the first place....! Woahhhh! |

- 19/06/01 The lizard thing is almost like a self destruct button, saying "I'm nuts", so it's difficult to give him any credit, but then Dubya got the presidency and it's tough to believe that happened without some major conspiracy ;) |
