Advantages: Great features for sharing artwork

Disadvantages: complex site

Deviant art is a great website for artists to share their work with the art world. The site has a fantastic themed layout and it is easy to access, upload images and stay in contact with other members.

I joined about a 2 months ago and it is extremely great community. They are friendly, helpful and constructive with your works. What's more they often hold competitions with great prizes which gets everyone together to participate, eg good and evil (which was recent theme).

However, the site as a whole is complex, and it takes a lot of time to scour the whole web page and all the features within. I am only really capable of managing my page and viewing the pages of friends and uploading and so on.

What's more, with its subscription service, it means free-users like me miss out on some great features, and make being a "deviant" less fun, but nevertheless a great site.

If you're an artist of somesort, or just want to view some artwork, this is for you!
