Advantages: None now, although at time of ordering were cheapest for my car seat....
Disadvantages: Dreadful customer service.
Diddyland is a nursery store based in Nottingham, although that isn't where I came across them...I actually stumbled across their website, diddyland.co.uk whilst looking for car seats.
The website itself is straight forward to navigate, with baby & nursery goods being organised into categories such as Pushchairs, Car Seats, Beds & Bedding, Furniture etc. There are also direct links to a select few brands, & there's a search box to go direct to the product you are looking for. The site has been recently updated & improved, incorporating larger thumbnail pictures than before. Also, it seems that whatever category you choose, all the items within it will be displayed on one page. A few months ago when I first came across the site, there were glitches with subsequent product pages not being visible. The site doesn't offer a very extensive range, but pretty much all bases are covered to some extent.
Having found the 'Mutsy' car seat I wanted at a lower price than anywhere else (prices have since gone up), I was also pleased to find an offer for free shipping on all orders over £50. Since I was saving the £4.95 delivery charge, I also decided to splash out on a couple of toys.
Ordering & paying with credit card was simple & straightforward on the site, & I received an invoice for my order via e-mail.
I was really pleased with the speedy delivery service when a large box arrived within 2 days of ordering, BUT when I opened the box I found that 2 of the 3 toys I had ordered were missing. There was no invoice in the box to say which items had & hadn't been delivered, so I was worried that I would have no proof of having not received the items. I immediately phoned the store, & was told not to worry, that the toys were on order & would be sent within a few days.
All well & good, but the toys never turned up. Having tried e-mailing several times, without response, I called a further 2 times & was repeatedly told that the toys would be sent when the rep came in to re-stock the store. I repeatedly gave deadlines & said if the toys had not arrived, then they were to refund me. Eventually after several weeks of waiting & a lot of demanding, I received credit for the toys. After all the hassle I had, I didn't even get an apology.
So, whilst I was pleased to find the car seat I wanted at a very reasonable price, I was most disappointed by the poor customer service, & certainly won't be shopping there again.

- 12/07/09 Perhaps Diddyland employs diddely people, who are not bothered a diddely-squat about getting orders out to diddyland customers. Ho-ho. |
