Digg is a great website for finding out the latest news and is well worth a visit on your dinner hour.

Digg.com is what's known as a social news website - anyone can add a link to an article, image or video that they find interesting and submit it for other people to see. Members then vote on whether they like the story or not, stories with the most votes get placed higher up the rankings until they reach the holy grail of the Digg homepage. Stories that appear on the homepage are mega-popular and will see a lot of traffic directed to their website... don't be surprised if a story you see on the homepage is inaccessible, as the "Digg affect" has a habit of crashing webservers all over the world!

Stories are categorised into different groups, making it easy to filter out articles that are of no interest to you. Categories currently include: Technology, World & Business, Science, Gaming, Lifestyle, Entertainment, Sports and Offbeat

As well as saying whether you like a story or not, registered users can also use the Digg comments board to share their opinions on the story... although this can sometimes be ruined by 14-year-old American schoolkids.

I've been using Digg for as long as I can remember and it has lead me to some very good stories and some very funny articles that I wouldn't have found with the likes of BBC News.
