Advantages: A place to chat about Dooyoo

Disadvantages: can be too serious

I have been a member of Dooyoo Lovers for a couple of months. I had previously joined the face book group but due to a lack of activity I never bother visiting

The site is fairly straight foreword to sign up to but it is a requirement of the site that you use your Dooyoo user name which some people have objected to but I find it makes life much easier. You do have to wait for your request to be authorised.

It is a small site in comparison to the number of members on Dooyoo as there are only 68 registered members.

The site is set up into four different sections

General announcements
Dooyoo chat
I won
Non Dooyoo chat

General announcements
This is made by the admin team on how the running of the site is changing. This is changing quite frequently which every change does seem to get some irate response but this is not a professional site but a new site in the early stages.

Dooyoo chat

This strangely can be the most boring section of the site. Sometime information and experiences can be shared but mostly it seems to be a group of people arguing about the Dooyoo system and they seem unable to reach the point that there opinion isn't the same as everyone else so discussions can just drag on.
There are endless discussions on the role of guides and how crowns are allocated. I find the level of seriousness on the subject amusing.

I won

Is a section for congratulating people on the crowns which I find quite ironic as a small minority of the members feel so aggrieved when their reviews aren't one of those crowned.

Non Dooyoo chat

This is the section that I enjoy most. This for me is the section where you get to know members better and therefore seems to make reading their reviews more personal. This chat is about anything form pets, what is happening in people's lives.
In this section there is also discussion on other websites but this is mostly about ciao as quite a few members are members of both sites

I have found the members on here to be very friendly and welcoming even to new members.

I do not think anything ever posted on this website will have any impact on the way Dooyoo is run and don't believe that most of these discussions will change anyone's opinions which seem to be set in stone however it is a great place to get to know your fellow Dooyooers better.

Summary: Great if you don't take it too seriously

A new Dooyoo forum? Never heard of it. Though I wonder if I would ever join considering my rather haphazard participation on Dooyoo lately.

Used to do forums but got bored with them, same old stuff and this one sounds rather narrow in scope. What is the user interface like and can you set reminders to know when a thread has been updated?

I agree with your last line completely. For me the best thing about this forum is that it's given me the opportunity to get to know other dooyoo members.
