dotmusic.com Internet Site

Newest Review: ... problem I feel Dotmusic has is that it never updates on a weekend. Someone like Madonna could die on Saturday and they wouldn't report on it 'till Monday. Back onto the good notes, many bands/aritsts have "areas" on the site where you can browse through pictures, a discography, biography etc... This is a vital must have for all similar sites. If you want to know about a specific album or single, the chances are that Dotmusic have reviewed it. I have followed their advise several times, and they seem very reliable. Say for example you were wondering when the new S Club 7 single was being released, there is a section... more

Dotmusic is a detailed, informative music internet site with everything a pop lover could want. It lists the top 75 official UK singles and album charts, as well as various other top 20 charts. You also get the main music news, although you won't find much on urban, new age or low key acts. Another option on Dotmusic is buying CD's and singles. Although you can't order directly through the main site itself, there are various links to 101cd.com (a reasonably cheap music site). A slight problem I feel Dotmusic has is that it never updates on a weekend. Someone like Madonna could die on Saturday and they wouldn't report on it 'till ...  Read the complete review

Dotmusic.com is an informative site that covers all aspects of music - Rock, Pop, Dance, Chart, Indie and manages to stay up to date regarding latest news snippets and tour information. It also contains latest reviews for both singles and albums and even gigs and offers many competition. The site is easy to navigate and is moderately attractive in its design. It could be better for content, and sometimes the articles are in depth enough, leaving me to look elsewhere for information. Also, sometimes I find the site to be quite slow when searching. However, it is almost instant when concerend with latest chart placings and very comprehensive. Dotmusic.com is an interesting  Read the complete review

Dotmusic is NOT the place to find comprehensive coverage of bands. If you like this site try popworld.com. The site is hard to vavigate if you do not want to hear about Robbie Williams and the newsletters are very unreliable. I would not recommend this site to anyone. The design is interesting but throws too much information at you. It also takes a long time to read a feature as you have to go through all the related features before you come to the story you wish to read. I would not recommend this site. ...  Read the complete review

A combination of nme.com and worldpop but without the conviction of either. They have the shortest list of bands i've ever seen. Which is OK if you want to know about any of the bands in the charts but that's not what the internet is about, it's about discovering new music and finding out about old music. Why run an ad campaign which rips off the Beatles Sgt Peppers cover artwork and only cater for mushy chart bands? Try telling the one hand what the other one's doing sometime! Competitions are good though, if anybody actually wins them.  Read the complete review

If you have middle of the road music tastes then this could possbily be the place for you. If you want to win tickets to see Damamge next weekend then this is the place for you. But if you have (I can't say better taste because we all think our own taste is better than everybody elses as thats why they don't listen to your kinda music!) real music in your soul then you might wanna have a quick look then surf on by! To me, music is about music not about manufactured pretty boys and talentless bands members who can just about sing in tune let alone play an instrument! We are making progress with the likes of ColdPlay coming into the lime-light ...  Read the complete review
