DVD Websites in general

Newest Review: ... choices for DVD websites are Lovefilm and Tesco DVD Rental where you can rent out dvd titles from the website. DVD websites in general such as IMDB give you information on the top dvd released. These websites will give you information as who stars in the movie and what people have rated the movie. They also let you know how well the movie has done in the box office. The most common websites I use for DVD is websites like Play because you get some good prices on there. Amazon is another good retailer website out there which you can find some stunning prices for the DVD's on sale. Some DVD websites will give you information about the movies f... more

Avoid DVD shopping online with MovieBytes.co.uk (151 words)

For anyone out there who have stumbled across www.moviebytes.co.uk for all your reasonably priced DVD's - dont use them!!! I placed an order back in early May and have not received my package yet. I contacted them and asked them politely for when I would be like to see my goods and they did not give me an answer but instead were very rude! There is no telephone number to call or address to write, they have argued only with by email and refuse any other contact. They basically have told me they are not interested in my enquiry as they are too busy! I doubt I will see this order and will have to use good old Egg card to get my money back as they are refusing to. ...  Read the complete review

Premium Review DVD Websites in general: One site to check them out and one site to buy them (484 words)

When it comes to DVD sites, I tend to look at two. Neither of them is exclusively for DVDs, but both outshine their competition, so they're the ones for me. For information on a DVD, I go to IMDB.com. Internet Movie Database is an online database for films. It is owned by Amazon, and is the number one site for film information. In a nutshell, if you want to find ANYTHING out about a film, go to IMDB and search for it. It will tell you the plot, running time, genre, actors, director etc, as well as list reviews and awards it was nominated for and won. There are pictures of most films, and dedicated forums for every single one, where you can discuss ...  Read the complete review

Renting DVDs on the web is far better value for money and much more convenient than physical shop rentals. I personally dislike paying for a product or service if I can get it cheaper elsewhere - much like anyone else really! With physical stores like Blockbuster, the cost of renting a new film per night is quite substantial, up to £3 or even £4 - which is not THAT much less than you can usually own a DVD once it's been out a while - especially if you take advantage of online offers and 3 for 2s. You can also get a surround sound giant screen HD experience (without any of the costly equipment) at the cinema for not much more, especially with promotions like ...  Read the complete review

Premium Review DVD Websites in general: Online Renting (1345 words)

I love the idea of these online DVD rental services. For ages I was a member of moviechoices.com (now taken over by Lovefilm.com), I then tried signing up with Amazon.co.uk's DVD Rental service, then about 2/3 months ago I changed to tescodvdrental.com for the simple reason they were offering the same service but slightly cheaper. Yesterday I swapped to lovefilm.com... So... are these DVD Rental Sites any good?! In a word, yes! What You Get ************************ The basic idea of renting online is that you don't have the hassle of taking a trip to Blockbusters or Choices or whatever your local DVD rental shop is called. You ...  Read the complete review
