ONE STAR TOO MANY cant do zero !!!!agree for sales rep to come round. haggle the price down and pay a 20% deposit. have a survey (if they choose to turn up when agreed). few days later get informed it is £100 more with no clear reason other than maybe I haggled them down too much. await and chase for ever for your deposit to be refunded. get another quote from a more reputable company and discover the original amazing good price you thought you agreed wasn't as good as the smarmy creepy disingenuous sales rep led you believe. Use these at your own risk

Myself and my wife (they insist on both being present at the time) had an unsolicited phone call in May, offering government back reductions, and booked an appointment.

The salesman arrived, and we made our requirements very clear, they would have to be sash double glazed, and installed as the existing sash double glazed were (These are manufactured by Quickslide in Yorkshire). I also gave him the ball-park figure I had from another supplier to fit more of the same, so he knew where we were coming from.

He promised A Rated units, Ecoseals own employees (I was concerned that sub-contractors become more of a lottery), and a Fensa Certificate. The promised quality was sufficient to make us pay significantly more for these windows.

I have received none of these. I now have B rated windows (manufactured by Quickslide), fitted by sub-contractors, and Fensa will not certificate, because the installation process is classed as a repair (this has been validated by a surveyor), and two soiled carpets, and a soiled childrens chair. The installation took place on 3rd and 4th July. Obviously if I have known this, I would have been able to choose the far cheaper Company, as they offered the same product, with no certification. It would probably have been the easiest decision of my life.

This was financed by Hitachi Capital, so we will be claiming under S.75, as the goods have been mispresented, and holding one or both parties liable, but I am concerned that this practice is still going on. Ignoring the fact that the salesman (Alan Shenton) was prepared to look at my existing windows, take my existing quote (£3600), knowing they would supply the same window, and charge so much more is immoral, but by making representations around the quality and certification, and against which he has broken the law.

We have rejected the windows, I raised the issue as soon as I checked the first windows that were installed on 3rd when the contractors arrived to fit on 4th, but so far, have not received anything other than a phone call from Ecoseal at 4.50pm (Frank, who wouldn't give his surname), threatening charges for not signing off the contract. The fact that the representations made were spoken, were, according to him "not worth the paper they were written on". That tells me all I need to know!

The job is not yet complete (one part of a window is missing), but I cam concerned that this practice is being operated in this way in Newcastle. I also don't believe it's right that someone can remain silent, if they know, or ought to know that the product they sell is identical, but it now explains why he wouldn't dismiss my existing windows, although he did state their windows speak for themselves! That was a perfect opportunity for him to be honest, and say save your money. I don't think such morally bankrupt people should be trusted in a business environment, where the £ is more important to them that the person they are relieving of it. The situation now makes me feel physically sick, that someone would do that, and I don't believe I could be the only one this has happened or will happen to.

One star because I can't put 0. Shambolic organisation

        Advantages

        Disadvantages

I have had the Marketing Manager of Ecoseal, Stoke on Trent come and see me and try to sell me double Glazing, Started with three prices and then went down over £2,500 to try and make me buy their windows. He sat there for 2 hours trying to make me sign and buy their windows as they were the cheapest around. In the end I had to be rude and throw him out as he was extremely pushy. Don't let them in as if you are not strong enough they will make your sign anything just to get rid of them. Don't fall for their lines about how good they are etc, etc. There website doesn't say much at all about the company so don't trust them.
