I find that the most useful thing about this website is to put your name in to find out whether you've won a competition and not been notified! This happened to me - my name cropped up on a site as a winner of a small prize, with the closing date of several months earlier… I hadn't been notified of the win, so I fired off a quick email to the webmaster, and hey presto, the prize arrived a week later with a free t-shirt to say sorry! The idea behind egosurf is very simple but it is one that hasn't been addressed before properly - searching for names. Named egosurf because most people will use it to see if they can find themselves, I decided to give it a go after reading about it in a magazine. www.egosurf.com is a nifty new idea for searching the Internet. There are LOADS of search engines that show you the results on the page in front of you. Egosurf.com is a bit different. You can search for names of people and it won't bring you a load of cack up with either one name or the other but not both together - unless you tell it to. It has search parameters on the page for you to chose. It will also email you continuing results over a period of 7 days as it keeps searching.
