I was recently browsing through pictures saved to my PC with my daughter (who is rather vain and likes looking at herself!) when I came across an enhanced image I'd had done of her as a baby.

I'd read a very high recommendation for Enhance-me.com on a parenting site and swiftly made my way over to see what all the fuss was about. I was immediately impressed with the beautiful enhanced pictures I found there and placed an order of my own and was absolutly thrilled with the result (it is in fact my profile picture at present although not very clear due to size).


Enhance-me.com is a website run by work from home mum, Victoria Dixon. What she offers are unique and magical enhanced photo portraits of your child or children. " Imagine your child in the most magical of places " she claims, and she can transport your childs picture there.

The website is well laid out and easy to navigate. The home page gives some information on the service, ordering information, testimonials and links to the galleries, FAQ and buy it now pages.

The galleries display examples of the work Victoria has already done for other customers and is separated into Girls, Boy's, Families and adults, groups and holidays. There is no Christmas section up yet, although the website does advise it will be appearing soon, and this section is well worth a look I promise!

Each gallery displays examples of themes and the original picture a childs image was taken from. The girls gallery has some absolutly stunning enchanted garden and forest pictures with little girls transformed into fairies, mermaids or even riding upon unicorns. The boys gallery shows examples of how you can place your child in the jungle, as a pirate, a superhero or in the wild west. I adore the baby stork pictures too, they really are quite impressive. You are not limited however to the examples shown. Victoria will work with your idea's to come up with something which is unique to you.

Ordering is extremely simple and pleasant. First of all I emailed Victoria, at the address given on the website, with my idea's and the photograph I thought I might like to use. She states on the website that the bigger the picture the better, don't crop or resize it, which was great as at the time as I was very new to digital photography and computers! She also offers advice for those unable to email a digital picture, and it is possible to send a 'real' picture through the post.

I received a reply to my initial enquiry very quickly, where Victoria confirmed my design wishes and payment request. You only need to make payment once you have agreed on the work you would like done, and once you pay she will work on your enhancement. The cost of one photograph enhancement is £13.99 for up to 2 children and £15.99 for up to 6 children. Prices can be agreed for larger groups by contacting her for a quote.

While Victoria was able to work with my design wishes, the photograph I had sent actually had my daughters hands cut off, so before I paid she asked if I would like hands added on! I said yes, although I must be honest and say I was dubious as to how good it would be. She also asked if I would like her red eyes recoloured and some blemishes on her face removed. Again I agreed and paid £13.99 by paypal. You can also pay by credit or debit card, but I always find sites taking paypal very handy...especially if I have funds as I feel I'm not actually spending!

I received a proof of my order less than two days later and was absolutly ecstatic with the results. My daughter really does look like she is sitting in the middle of an enchanted forest with fairies flying around her! And I would never have known her hands weren't actually her own if I hadn't been told! If I hadn't of been happy with anything and would have liked changes made, Enhance-me.com say on the website that they would make the changes, free of charge until I was satisfied.

I didn't require any changes and emailed to confirm my delight. Later that day I received the finished enhancements by e-mail in colour, black and white and sepia formats. All that was left to do was to save them to my computer and I was free to print them off in which ever media I required. You are given the right to reprint the image as often you like or in which ever format you like, however you are not permitted to alter or add to the image, and you must not claim the work as your own!

The images are really stunning and would make ideal gifts and cards as well as framed pictures. They really are a unique keepsake. I also noticed that Enhance-me.com now recommends a company who can print your image onto canvas and think that would be a gorgeous and personal present for a child's bedroom!

I found the whole process so absolutly easy and pain free, however even if you are unsure about emailing digital photographs and printing out your results, Victoria offers to do this for you. I have just placed an order for an updated enhancement of my daughter yesterday, and I recieved a reply to my very specific request within just 3 hours...on a Sunday! That's fabulous service in my eyes! I am eagerly awaiting a proof of my daughter now and am sure I will be as delighted as with the first. Victoria was extremely friendly in her email, and said how nice it was to hear from me again. I had been pleasantly surprised to see my daughters initial enhancement of 3 years ago on display in the gallery (page 4 of the girls gallery...fairy glen ;-) ) and had mentioned it, and she commented on how she had grown, making me feel that she really does care about her customers and is keen to give an excellent service.

I highly recommend you all go over there now for a look at least. And I can assure you that any enquiry you make or order you decide to make will be dealt with in a very personal, helpful, prompt and friendly service.
