The Ents24.com web site has been providing comprehensive listings for music, clubs, comedy, theatre, days out, cinema and festivals since 2005 and today is established as one of the UK's biggest entertainment guides. To be honest I'm surprised nobody has reviewed it before, it's a site I swear by. Sure, there are lots of sites in the net to find out what's on in your area, but I've not found any better or easier to navigate than this one.
