Advantages: recyle your old mobiles, make/donate money

I had a bit of a collection growing of old mobile phones in my draw doing nothing, just collecting dust, then i saw an advert on the television advertising envirofone.

What an excellent idea i though, just send your old mobiles of and get money for them. So i registered with the site and tralled through all of the phones searching for mine (you can directly go to your mobile make and model but i was interested in what you could get for certain phones). I had 5 phones which i added to the basket, unfortunately one phone wasn't worth even a penny as it was pretty old, but i couldn't complain i had 5 others. They offered my something around £50 for my collection of unused mobiles...wow thats a few new peices for my wardrobe.

I noticed some of the more older mobiles such as nokia 3310's you only get about 20p, sony ericsons anout £27 and much newer ones any where up to £200, so its defently worth a look. I was amazed at what i could get for them (i proberly couldn't even get a £5 for some of them at a car boot).

The jiffy bag arrived and i sent my mobiles off (and it was even free post so no cost as it was over 4 mobiles) and waited for them to send me an email comfirming the amount they would pay me. The email had finially arrived and the excitement set in (it was like getting free money), they had only deducted about £5 off their original quote which i was very impressed by, this was because they check each mobile when they recieve it to see if they work and all parts are intact.

You have the option of receiving your money in a form of a cheque or you can donate your money to charity. Wow what an easy way to get a little extra bit of money from something you are never going to use again. Mobile phone recycling... genius!

The site also offers information on green issues, money saving ideas and they even run a competition. Even if your not going to stop using your phone imediately it is defently worth a look to see how much you could get, and they even can send you a reminder for when you do.

Overall this is an excellent site, not only can you do your bit to help save the planet, you can make a little bit of money by doing it, and swat up on some important issues. Defently worth a look!
