DAMAGED ALLOY, POOR CUSTOMER SERVICE, 2 MONTHS UNRESOLVED
Author Name: Guest
Disadvantages: Poor customer service, damage to car, no accountability, hard to contact.
I wish to strongly express my dissatisfaction with the quality of work and customer service I received with the initial tyre replacement, then the subsequent alloy repair sessions that took place to rectify the damage that was made to the alloy by the eTyres colleague.
On 27/09/12 'Chris' visited my house to replace 1 'Bridgestone 255/30R19Y Reinforced' tyre at a cost of £331.30. Upon inspection after the fitting I noticed excessive damage to the alloy wheel that was made when the tyre was being replaced. In addition the metal valve dust cap had been replaced by a plastic one. I complained to the central helpline via phone and email on 29/09/12. I was told the problem would be rectified.
A colleague by the name of 'Kyle' from a repair company called 'Revive' was sent to my house to 'repair' the damage made by the eTyres colleague. Once the work was completed I had to pay for the work, as no agreement had been made between eTyres and Revive. I paid the sum of £60 to Revive under the instruction that I would receive a refund for the work from eTyres. I have still not received the refund from either eTyres or Revive.
After inspection of the work carried out by Revive it was clear that it was extremely unsatisfactory. I phoned 'Mark' from eTyres, who arranged another visit from Revive. After the second visit a week later I was told by the Revive engineer that he could not rectify the work as it was in a position on the alloy that was unreachable without taking the tyre off, which he was not insured to do. Once again I contacted Mark from eTyres to notify him of the situation.
A 3rd visit from the Revive engineer was booked, in conjunction with an eTyres engineer. The eTyres engineer would be able to take off the tyre to allow the Revive engineer to 'fully rectify' the damage on the alloy.
This work took place on the 18/10/12. Once the work was complete, I was told by the Revive engineer that:
'When the alloy was damaged a 2 inch chunk of the original primer was taken off'. He showed me the primer. He then continued to inform me that
'Obviously there will always be a recess in the alloy now, but it's smooth now'.
Having looked at the work I still feel it is unacceptable. The car and alloy were less than 1 year old, and contained no defects at all. I now have to suffer with a defective wheel on a £45k car due to the incompetence of both the eTyres engineer and the 3rd Party Company used to cover up the damage. I feel that eTyres should replace the alloy completely, and that I should be compensated for the ordeal that I and the car have been through, stretching out over a month. On top of this, my driveway now has a silver spray mark approx 1 foot in diameter, which will not come off.
After 2 months this is still unresolved and it is getting increasingly hard to get hold of eTyres.
Summary: Do not go near this company.
