My closest one is Ashford, whcih is great as there is very little traffic approaching it, it is easy to park and you have to check in much later than you do before a flight. Security is much quicker too. Once you are at the terminal you hand in your tickets, go through a quick security check and wait for the train to arrive. You can wait indoors or outdoors. Ever since I took the eurostar to Paris I would never look back. I dont even know where to start in the list of things I love about it. The price of booking the eurostar is often, but not always cheaper than flying. The actual price varies based on time and demand, as with anything, but if you book well in advance, you are sure to get the times and price you want. There are now multiple stops in the UK. When Mr M announced he'd like to whisk me off to Paris, it didn't cross my mind to object - well, what girl would?? I popped 'Paris breaks' into Google and got thousands of links, predictably. Most seemed to be via air-travel, but we fancied going on the train - carbon footprint and all that. It surprised me that very few online travel sites seemed to offer the option to go by train. Eurostar.com Your one stop travel website to the continent. I recently travelled on the Eurostar to Brussels and enjoyed it.
