Expedia is the only site we have ever booked our international holidays on and I absolutely love it! The best holiday we've ever been on - a two-week trip to Orlando - was booked on Expedia, as was our honeymoon. Although there can sometimes be benefits of using package holidays because of the airport pick-up etc., we were comfortable to make all the arrangements ourselves and make our own way from the airports to our hotels. Let's face it, there's no shortage of taxis from major airports!!

The Expedia website is easy to use: you can search for locations - either quite specifically or just by general areas/counties - and browse through choices of hotels, departure dates and flights to make your perfect holiday for your chosen date. You can view alternative options that might work out cheaper, such as changing your departure airport or the dates of travel. It's also possible to browse weather reports and forecasts and find out other information such as passport and visa requirements for different countries. There's also a handy currency converter so you know exactly how much your sterling will be worth! Another feature that's excellent is the facility to search for activities in your holiday destination, which are tailored to the dates you'll be there in case there are special events at that time. This is a great way to find out what the most popular and interesting attractions are at your holiday destination.

For choosing hotels, detailed information is provided in the form of hotel and location descriptions, map, internal and external photos and reviews from people who have actually stayed there. All of these were very helpful to us in choosing our holiday, when considered along with Expedia's own rating system. The hotel photos in particular were nice - it's always good to get an idea for the place you'll be staying.

Our experience of using Expedia was flawless - the website was easy to use, the information clear and concise and our holidays went without a hitch! I'd definitely use them again.
