I joined Facebook a couple of years ago and after a few weeks where nothing occurred, I began adding old and new friends to my profile and soon after colleagues at work.

Facebook is a social networking website, it allows people to share photos, to post on bulletin board, to chat, quite simply to share and stay in touch.

There is a lot of debate on privacy issues surrounding Facebook and I personally became aware of the implications of Facebook on my personal life when a friend of mine posted some photos of me in a "slightly compromising" position!

I found out from other common friends, I did not even know that these photos existed.

I asked for the photo to be removed and then started trimming on few personal contacts in my circle.

I have a so called good job and it makes me freak out that one of my HR people may find out about these photos too.

My advice is to check very carefully your circle of friends when you sign up on Facebook, to avoid nasty surprizes!
