Advantages: Great for staying in contact, and quelling boredom

Disadvantages: The creators.

Facebook is obviously addictive - you can tell that from the millions of people actively on it, regularly. And I admit that I'm addicted to it, too.

Because of facebook, I've been able to get back in touch with people I didn't speak to anymore, keep in touch with current friends, and get in contact with people I was about to go to uni with, or move in with - My current flatmate contacted me a while before we moved in together when we found out the uni had put us in the same flat!

It really is amazing how the site can connect people so well. And now that it's developed, it's not just a networking website anymore - it's something to occupy you when you're bored, with the thousands of applications you can add, or the groups you can join.

The only problem I have with it is that the creators don't seem to care about their users' opinions. When they changed to the 'new facebook' layout, there were thousands upon thousands of outraged users, demanding that we have a choice between layouts. Did the creators listen? Did they heck. They seem to have gotten a little arrogant with their success...

Summary: Facebook seems to be a necessity in life these days
