Advantages: good way to keep in contact with friends
Disadvantages: far too addictive
Oh my god...facebook has taken over my life.
I have always been on a networking site, whether it be myspace, faceparty (an old one from back in the day) or facebook. Until i joined facebook i was never really that bothered much about networking sites and proberly visited them a couple times a week. Then the day came i joined facebook, there was no turning back.
I have become completely obsessed by facebook, it has taken over my life (to be fair im not exactly sure why) and i proberly log on atleast 10 times a day thats if i am not constantly logged on in the back ground.
I am addicted by what people are doing i suppose and i like to be nosey in peoples lives. I sit at my laptop waiting for a new update or someone to pop up and chat to me, how sad is this that i waste so much of my life oggling at a webpage. There are hundreds of different applications you can add to your page, but to be fair i don't actually use any of them. And then there are the numous invitations you get asked to goin...look i don't want to join your silly little group. A plus though it is an easy way to organise an event and keep track of it without using up all of your free texts.
The one thing that frustrates me about facebook though is the chat application; when you are having a little chin wag with a mate about something you could proberly wait to tell them in face, your comment decides it doesn't want to go through ahhhh, how frustrating, or your chat buddy goes offline evn though they are actually online, why oh why does this always happen to me.
This is defently a good way to keep in contact with people you wouldn't generally still speak to for one reason or another, but i must admit i am one of those annoying people who add everyone i know, even if i've only ever met them twice in my life, and end up having a competition with your best mate at who has the most friends. Really is this how i am going to spend the rest of my life, sitting at a laptop waiting for someone to write a silly status change...i hope not, but what would i actually do with my time if i didn't have facebook any more?
Summary: i spend far too much time staring at a computer screen
