Advantages: going through peoples photos, friends, family are on there

Disadvantages: irritating status updates, stupid apps

Facebook is THE most popular social networking site worldwide.
I do feel as though you aren't possibly anyone if you don't have a facebook.
It's a bit like people who don't have a mobile phone.. who even does that?
It's a shame really, as facebook is a pretty souless place eventually that I like to call failbook.

So, we all sign up to this site, give all our information, add a few friends from work or old school friends and then we begin to become addictive.
From moronic applications, such as quizzes entitled 'wHo r U gUna maRrY lol?' which then even though you took the quiz FOR A JOKE, ALRIGHT?! the persue you like a sex pest on heat with notifications YOU JUST DON'T CARE ABOUT such as Soand So got This Result in This Quiz..Can you beat her? = No and I don't care!

Another marvellous attribute of facebook is the flood of brainless information about people I only accepted as my 'friend' ('friend' here being a very loose term), out of politeness. Yes, the people who insessantly change their statuses to tell me they are eating lasagne, or they are bored, or they are getting ready to go to bed. I do believe this happens when you forget that the area where you plan your next actions is actually in a part of your brain which now has got lazy because you make these decisions on really mundane choices in life through facebook instead.

Also, don;t even start me on attention seeking statuses such as 'So Miserable..' 'My heart is throbbing from the last time I saw you..'
Errr... NO.

But overall when I finally get over the irritations facebook brings to my life, I do check it about 5 times a day just quick to see if I get any notificiations, and my mum is on it! so i can talk to people i wouldn't normally such as long distance family.
It is also a great habit of me and my friends (real life) to stalk the slags from our year at school now we have left to see which infections they possibly caught and advertised on facebook or to see if they have fulfilled their lifelong goal of marrying someone very rich and very old.

Generally, facebook is great for bringing people together and reconnecting, and spying on your exbf/weird uncle/slaggy girl in your year.
But I still want to punch the makers of moron applications in the face.

Summary: it is an annoying thing to have but you have to have one or they dont count you as a citizen
